Oh MJZ, you're going to love this.
I watched the trailer over after going through my Aquaman history again, played close attention to the story, its actually not that bad.
I'm going to give it a fair unbiased shot if it ever airs, hoping it obviously isnt a teen soap.
I was flipping the channels and saw a rerun of some random soap with Hartley in it, he can actually act...despite what he was on. Having a lead actor that can actually act right off the bat is a great move for this series.
I also have to say, this cast really appeals to me way more than the Smallville cast (and thats probably a great thing for the Aquaman series). Lou Diamond Phillips is an awesome actor, plays some badass roles. Ving Rhames is just as badass and I like the fact hes an black exile from Atlantis, they may be able to tie the origins of Black Manta to be his son....somehow.
Unlike SV, where I find none of the female castmembers remotely appealing, Aquaman has 3 out of 4 of them that are pretty good, save for Denise Q (she was horrible in Smallville, so Im hoping she improves here).
Honestly Denise and the possibility of it being a teen soap are my only drawbacks, everything else could be great. They stole my favorite song by Trust Company. The lead actor can actually act and looks like a badass AC, unlike our favorite American Idol reject.
I hope something comes from this. It could be promising if handled right.
I also noticed theyve titled the show 'Aquaman' in the trailer. I hope theyre retooling the show to actually make it Aquaman and not the adventures of young AC in Mercy Reef. AC seems old enough to become Aquaman now anyways and the suit and effects would prolly look cool visually.
