I concur, I prefer Angels and Demons over the Da vinci Code a tad bit.

Aye!

Better twist ending.

Is this a serious question or sarcasm?

Sorry, I thought you wanted to spread the word of Jesus Christ, our savior and Lord Almighty, you don't have to be a dick.

Dude, do you realize how many times I get asked similar questions and sometimes people are serious and sometimes they're not? We're on the internet here. I don't know you. I don't know your mannerisms. I can't tell what tone you're asking your question in. I have nothing but the written word to go off of. So what I asked you was a legitimate question, not an attempt to be what you so nonhesitantly called me. I see where your loyalties lie now though.

It was rhetorical, duh. Of course Jesus ROCKS.

The novel is fiction. But Brown claims that the elements that make up the story are true.

Quote: The Da Vinci Code is a novel and therefore a work of fiction. While the book's characters and their actions are obviously not real, the artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals depicted in this novel are true."
Dan Brown

That's why Christians are angered. All of his so-called facts are false. It flies in the face of scholarship.....biblical and extra-biblical.

Opus dei exist. thats a fact. so elements of it are true.

and anyway, who fecking cares? Pagans have had to put up with being branded as evil by the christian religion for a couple of thousand years.

Thats why I like it a tad better.

I haven't read angels and demons yet. but i have read deception point, which was a bit disappointing after the da vinci code. but i take it angels and demons is better?

I dont think they've even green-lighted the project yet.

It hasn't,I'm guessing they are waiting to see how DVC does at the BO before making another,it's also not always easy to get names like Hanks and Howard locked into sequel type projects (yes i know Angels is before DVC)

It's kinda of up to the person, I liked Agels and Demons a tad bit better but my girlfriend likes The Da Vinci Code better. Either way though you won't be dissapointed.

Well, I have yet to read the book, though I am looking forward to it and will get right to it after I'm finished Angels and Demons (which despite its pointing out of Vatican flaws, actually seems to paint faith in a father positive light). Personally I don't think that there is a bloodline of Jesus existing today, though I don't have traditional Christian beliefs (I'm more Gnostic than Christian) and my views on Jesus are somewhat different than most Christians (though I do believe he died on the cross and transcended death). Since I am enjoying A&D, I can only assume that DaVinci will be just as good.

I'm enjoying Angels and Demons. It gives quite a new meaning to the term "playing God".

They exist, Yes!! But they are not some mad murderous sect that is out to kill those that hold the "secret"!! And they don't have monks either!!! Time magazine even wrote a recent article on this group.

The Priory of Sion never existed during Da Vinci's time either. Thus could never have been a Grand Master in their organization!! They were founded in 1956!!! The guy," Plantard " admitted to fabrication the documents about Jesus and Mary.

So the elements are false.

I guess I can see why some Christians are angry. But really, it's just a book. A fiction book at that. Not a big deal. And while Dan Brown may have, through his reaserch, come to believe that some of the theories presented in his book are true, it doesn't mean that he's right. I mean, he's just a novelist, not a historical scholor. He could have missed something in his reaserch, and more recent evidence suggests he did. No big deal. The book's fictional either way. And really, who cares if Jesus had kids or not. Does that really ruin his messgae? No. Just means the guy got laid. And really, since when was having sex a bad thing?

If he left it at this being just a fictional book (i.e. Tom Sawyer etc) that's no problem. But the only things he claims as fiction are the characters....the so-called facts they uncover are supposedly true. That's a problem.

He didn't miss anything. He just ignored history and scholarship. And yes it ruins everything Jesus was and claimed to be. But you wouldn't see that because you think he was just a man.
