Two for certain: Heath Ledger (Best Supporting)
Wally Pfister (Best Cinematography)
Wally Pfister (Best Cinematography)
There's alot of talk in Hollywood about Nolan getting the best director nod and the brothers Nolan getting the nod for adapted screenplay. Gary Cogill and Roeper are among the critics saying it certainly deserves it. Gary Cogill said it would have beaten 'No Country' for best picture, had it come out last year.yeah im thinking those two for sure....i think in like...crazy bizarro world we'd be getting best director and best picture, but i really, really doubt it....as much as TDK has broken some barriers, i think the academy is still too snobby. i could definitely see best original score and best special effects/sound effects. maybe, maybe adapted screenplay if the academy gets the stick out of its butt.
Pfister was nominated for his last two films. Begins and Prestige.Best cinematography? I don't get that one at all.

But will never win, especially with a film that has very little to offer in that department, an oscar nomination means next to nothing, especially these days. Also, the cinematography in TDK is pretty average.
really? i thought the cinematography was one of the best aspects.
what you think an oscar means and what it actually means seems to be two different things. an oscar means nothing to someone like you, sure, but to the general movie going public its still a sign of "OH MAN THIS MOVIE MUST BE AWESOME YEAAAAAH", and in the industry its still a big deal, it opens a lot of doors. guarantee you the coen brothers got films greenlit that before they wouldnt even think about getting made after winning their oscar last year. an oscar pretty much means you have carte blanche in terms of your next project, its up to you what you do with it, which is why a lot of celebrities blow it.... and i'm going to have to disagree with you about the cinematography, not only was it waaaay above average, it was groundbreaking, and people in the industry know that.
Not exact screen shots, but images like these really spoke volumes about the cinematography
Cinematography is about more than just making something look pretty on a simple level...
