You can't kick off the holidays without the madness known as black friday. What are your plans for black friday of 2009. And if you have any crazy stories from black fridays past that you'd like to share feel free to here. I know I have plenty of these stories.

Wow, you're like Wal-Mart, jumping ahead a holiday or two to prepare for a sale.

Yeah. I usually stay out of shopping on that day. It's just insanity.

2009 has been a **** year any way, nothing of value will have been lost when it passes.

That said, I plan to go shopping on Black Friday. It's the day I get to expand my DVD collection.

2008 and 2009 have been the most horrible years of my life. Bring on 2010.

Stay at home and relax. I may go out later in the afternoon if I feel like it, but will probably watch movies and chow on some leftovers.

Should be deeply into a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 addiction by then, so probably just spend the day getting my fix of that in.

Black Friday is a racist term. Why can't the most hectic day of the year when people fight, maul each other, die, and wait in line for cheap crap be called White Friday? All of you are racist.

That's right. Yup, that is going to be my black Friday too.

I still remember the day after thanksgiving 2007, I was up till like 6 in the morning playing COD4 because I didn't have to work that day.

Spent last year's Black Friday waiting at Best Buy in 4 or 5 degree weather. It was insanely cold for a November.

Hoping to get a TV this year.

:hehe:

I worked at a particular electronics store chain during Black Friday in 2006 and 2007. Working a 16-20 hour shift and trying to calm down customers yelling about the line being too long can really give you a hatred of humanity. I was a belligerent employee by noon, only half awake by 5pm, and completely off my rocker insane by the time I went home (which was at 8pm in 2006, but midnight in 2007).

If you're one of those jerks who decides to go shopping on Black Friday, I want you to know that I don't care who you are or where you're shopping-- I hate your guts.

It's called Black Friday comes from when a business is in the black, they are making a profit. There's nothing racist about it.

And you wonder why shoppers get pissed at employees...

Oh, I'm sorry if I upset some customers on those days. It's not like I'd been awake since 2am so I could be to work at 4am, and I knew I wasn't going home until midnight!

You're buying an HDTV for half off; I think dealing with an exhausted salesman is a fair trade for that.

I worked at Best Buy one year on Black Friday, stop going to work after that day, didn't tell anyone, just stopped showing up. I hung out at a friend's house the first day I didn't show up, the second day waiting by the phone for them to call, picked it up and didn't even say "hello", just "I quit".

At Fry's Electronics, they said if you didn't show up at any point that weekend (because even after Black Friday was over, we were all gonna have to pull 12 hour shifts that Saturday and Sunday), then they're just going to assume you've quit.

You know what I've noticed helps employees get through that day? Smoking weed, popping pills, and/or a few drinks. I dare anyone here to go to any major store after 6pm on Black Friday, and see how many jacked up employees you can spot.

I was at Boston Store three weeks ago... yeah, christmas stuff up already.... Mid September.... **** them

My favorite part was coming in to get my paycheck the next Friday, my boss and the store manager took me aside and told me how wrong what I did was. I didn't even care, it was a college job and I was about to graduate and move back home. One of the biggest things that caused me to quit was I saw the schedule and I was scheduled for something like 40 hours or more that coming week. I had finals and actually did tell them the first two days on the schedule I couldn't work, but by the time the third and fourth days came around, just decided didn't need the job anymore. I was pretty damn proud at how badly I screwed them over actually.

When I quit my job, I said "Eff that! They can mail me my paycheck!" I was more than bitter enough to make them pay for postage.
