So not MUCH of a redesign, but how I would like Wonder Woman to look.

This looks a lot like Hippolyta's costume combined with what Cobie Smulders wore in Smallville.

my version of a future justice league courtesy of Heromachine :awesome:
Batman and Nightwing: batman beyond style costume for Bats and what I imagine Cassandra cain would look like as nightwing

I LOVE the idea of Cassandra as nightwing. It looks awesome!! Though they're changing Nightwing to be red and black now.

Recent attempts at redesigning Superman, b/c i find the new official costume to be a bit lazy on DC's part. All this time i've wanted to see what a professional would do and all they did was remove the shorts and make it armor......anyway here's my attempts at making it "modern, sleek" etc. I'm happy with my supergirl redesign (on page one of this thread) but i'm hoping i can narrow it down one of the Superman designs to do some finished artwork. Also check out my blog for older attempts at redesigning Supes:

Thanks! Your flash looks interesting. I guess it's a mediveal theme? I'm curious about how his powers work, etc. The look is good but it depends on the story/setup for the reality your working with. I hope that helps.

Green Lantern opens tomorrow or tonight at 12 tonight in some theaters. So to celebrate here is Monkey Boy as a member of the Green Lantern Corps.

The feathers in his helmet of mercury are from a phoenix and give him his power

He also has two stitched into his boots so if he gets separated from his helmet he still has some speed but the feathers work better in the helmet since it was made for them , simply put it's a better conductor for the magic energy

I like A1 or A4 depends on your affinity for yellow I think

DC + Marvel = Amalgam
Lobo + Deadpool = ?
Whatever his name was, he can no longer remember, he is now (Lobo + Deadpool).
He was once a normal human, or maybe some sort of assassin, but after Weapon X experimented on him with alien DNA, he was mutated. Now he cannot die. Cuts heal, severed limbs grow back, and nothing can stop him it would seem. More than that he gained heighted senses, like the ability to break the fourth wall, and he became an excellent tracker. He is a half human, half Zarnian, Space Traveling Ninja Biker Assassin for hire, who cannot die. He was so powerful that he killed everyone on Earth, in his own universe. When he got bored he found a way to escape into our universe. Now he aims to do it all over again. Only problem is, because of his extreme healing powers, he cannot remember anything. His healing heals his brain and erases memories, all he has now are vague memories of killing everyone and escaping. He can’t remember more than that, not even how he got here. And soon those vague memories will be gone. So he has decided to have as much fun as he can trying to figure it all out again. Maybe he can, and maybe he can’t do it again, what does he care, it’s just a comic.

This is a rough draft of the idea. He is wearing a altered and ripped Deadpool costume, he looks like Lobo under it but with maybe narled up skin like Deadpool. He also wears Logo's biker stuff over it.

I found this on Dev. Art. Some redesgins an artist is working on for a fan Dc reboot series. Please keep in mind it's a WIP:

I remember the artist (he used to be a member here), but for the life of me I can't remember his name.

Here is another, more cleaned version, of Lobo + Deadpool. Still don't know his name.

Spider Rob link please I always loved his work.

This is a great lesson in how to NOT create a character design. The artist essentially succeeded in doing nothing but adding clutter and dozens of lines. With the possible exception of Aquaman, none of these designs have a single iconic feature on them. Even Superman's S is drowned out by that shirt/skin-tight jacket. The simplicity of Aquaman is the only one that could actually work on the page or on screen. (I won't even mention the Batman design. It doesn't look finished.)

This is a great redesign. It's a bit close to the original, but it has enough of its own unique retro flavor to know that it's definitely different from the original design. I could see this design as the basis for a Batman set in the 20's or 30's.

I beg to disagree, the lines actually draw your eye towards the "S", IMO. Here's a more finished version the artist did a while back:

If by "iconic", you mean "no trunks", then yes, you're correct in that regard. Other than that, it has most of the elements of previous Superman costumes: cape, chest emblem, red boots, blue color, no gloves, etc.

Here's a more finished version of the artist's Batman design:

Looks like he was going for a more shadowy, monstrous look instead of "guy-in-suit". Either way, it's more creative, and more original than the Batman redesign you're praising above (no offense to that artist, but it's just the same ol' with no trunks).

Also, if you reduced a lot of movie superhero costumes to simple line art, they'd look overly complicated as well. In the group shot, the artist has yet to add shading and texture, as well as blend some of the seamlines. But, judging from your art thread, I doubt you have the foresight or creativity to picture such things.

And regarding his WW design, looks like he got rid of the unneeded American patriotism, and the weird bathing suit design (Is that how they all dress on Amazon Island???), and gave her something more practical and fashionable. But, to each his own...

^ i like the sup's design.. I can see where Keith is coming from about the lines and such but that mainly an artistic preference and purely subjective. I personally enjoy it.

the batman is nice, clearly drawing a lot of inspiration from the TDK suit. is the brown shade intentional? bats are brown, i get it.... personally i like black better. but again to each his own.

the WW design is very nice. something about the v-neck with the W symbol reminds me of cloak and dagger. just change up the heels and then I can fully agree with the "practical" comment

all in all i approve :awesome:

Wow, how classy. You're definitely a legit judge of creativity seeing that you're taking designs from someone else instead of, well... coming up with some of your own. You must be dripping with talent.

And the Batman design is flat (the brown color is nice) and cluttered with seams for the sake of filling the space. (The intricate linework worked for the Dark Knight because it was layered armor. Lee Bermejo draws it the same way and it looks great, again because he layers the armor.) The mouth also looks silly. If he's wearing a full mask, just cover the mouth. Each line and seam you add on a costume should serve a purpose, whether or not the audience knows it.

The Wonder Woman costume is simply unimpressive as a concept. It looks llike something you could get at a Macy's, not something an Amazonian would wear. (Her original costume is just as bad, so this one breaks even). The best WW costumes I've seen were here on these boards where the artist gave her a Roman armor inspired design. It looked royal and powerful without making her look like a model in a designer outfit.

Superman's jacket is filled with too many lines. It looks like a motorcycle jacket mmore than an alien outfit. His original costume isn't great, but it knew what was important (the "S") and didn't impede on it with extra layers that didn't serve a purpose and didn't reinforce his image as a powerful alien humanoid.
