A Superfamily redesign with really quick sloppy colors.

Actually he was supposed to be blue beetle then dc got cold feet and told him to make a new character up so he did.

Indeed; all the Watchmen characters were original meant to be the Charlton characters--Blue Beetle, The Question, Captain Atom, and so on.

I'm glad DC got cold feet, actually. It freed the characters to grow into something new.

Here's my take on an updated Manhunter design. I switched out the Old school style cape for a more hooded approach, I covered him in black again to pop out the red symbols as well as figuring he can be hurt by fire so the material is Fireproof. Again I feel trying to move away from a ton of muscles showing to emphasizing the symbols or primary colors of the character.

I really like his style and I think Jonn looks cool

Heres take on Captain Marvel aka Shazam. Itried to play up the "Captain" part, adding a little pf that 30's pulp Buck Rogers feel to him. I took away the cape an added a scarf, so he can cover this face on desert worlds or when he wants to look all ninja-like I gave Billy the classic Shazam colors for his clothes to retain a bit of the orig design along the new.

His take on Flash would looks like a 1602 version I saw on here a while back:

Here's a rough costume idea that's been floating around in my head for awhile. Back in Millers DKR he drew Supes as a silhouette where you only see his shield and cape, I always loved that idea cause it puts the symbol before the man, that's sort of what I tried to do here.

Here's my take on Robin, sort of a play off the Carrie Kelly model, maybe its the Joss Whedon fan in me, but I love strong female characters and Robin being a girl was always the coolest idea to me. I gave her a yellow scarf for 2 reasons.

1. To substitute a cape for something more fashionable/ trendy. Having the symbol on the scarf was just a happy accident.

2. They kind of look like wing when it hangs down like that.

This is definitely awesome.

His other designs are cool, the only other one that is really different is GL, which is cool, but I prefer original GL.
(I've seen Superman done like that before, Batman's are cool but I've seen cooler, and not a fan of the Robin or Captain M)

i thought if they ever did make a batman beyond movie he could have a glass face plate maybe bullet proof. i cant imagine how they would make it like the cartoon and still have it look cool. its kinda like mr. freeze style . so i whipped up this concept on adobe

The MM design was my favorite as well. It made the most sense and looked like it could be used today. I also loved the robin glad you dig too.

I just drew them in pencil and then scanned them in, darkened the pencil and colored them. I forgot that I posted it here, thanks everybody for the positive comments! I realize that Superboy looks a little lame compared to the other two, were I to do it again I'd probably give him his black greaser jacket back.

^Cool. It's nice to see a Supergirl costume with some dignity.

Also, if you liked that one there's another more Darwyn Cookey Supergirl design further back in the thread that I'm proud of as well.

Hey spiderfan970, after seeing your Fleischer-esque Supergirl I think it would be cool if you made Fleischer-esque versions of the rest of the JLA
