if bruce became the bayman in his late teens early 20s OR if dick became batman and not bruce. he was originally gonna be an alternate batman beyond. that why he has a computer link gauntlet but i figured he was not future-y enough. i just like the BAT-PAK and his facemask. i gave him a robin style pole that extends

this is a alternate universe superman. this is if kal-el was raised by merlin to be king arthur. i gave him a big ass sword because he's superman and can lift with ease it. hes called the star king because when merlin saw his ship ( movie crystal style ) he thought it was a fallen star. i did the scar for looks maybe a as his ship was crashing to earth he got hurt and as a baby with no powers he was vulnerable. the thing on his chestplate comes from inside his ship. PS: TELL ME IF HE NEEDS MORE BLUE?THATS WHY HIS CHAIN MAIL IS LIGHT BLUE.

Robin I think this looks like what Tim should be in now. I would tweak it a bit though.

well i inked the lines of this one so it came out cleaner but nothing compared to some of the awesome **** i've seen on the an art pages.

the is my flash i went with a TRON flavor because i saw the test footage from the sequel and its crazy awesome. i gave him a full face because if your traveling that fast with a half bare face the wind would hurt. plus he has read outs of his speed and g forces heart rate and a police scanner and and radio contact to the justice league watch tower. the whole package also he only glows like that when he runs fast. but how is my over all style of art from what you've seen

Wow, I love your art especially Superman and Supergirl, they look like Darwyn Cooke style, how did you do it?

The Superman/Supergirl I just drew, inked and colored in photoshop. I lost a lot of their expressions with the inking, I wasn't very good then. I'm still not that great now. The Impulse one I just drew and colored with prisma color markers. I'm glad that you like them though! Thanks!

Also, Darwyn Cooke and Bruce Timm are like my two idols.

Over on the Smallville board we was chatting about how cool it would be to see a GL in Smallville. After awhile we all came to the idea that cause of budget per ep the GL uniform and powers would been downsized. So this above idea I created wouldn't "fit" into that universe. So I posted it here for you guys to see

The above idea is how I would design GL, if I created him. As you can see his more powerful than the current DC Lanterns (this Lantern is made up of pure energy). This suit is a mix of Lantern outfits (Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner's first Lantern outfit and his "Ion" look and also elements of Thom Kallor aka Starman).

That Batman image does have a old circus feeling too it which is cool cause of Dick's past/origins...nice mix of Batman and Nightwing costume too not sure about the smile tho lol

I'm on a noir / googie / retro modern kick right now, real "World of Tomorrow" type vibes going on. This is a rare chance for me to show off a costume concept I had floating around the brain.

I wanted to go for a modern redesign that integrated elements from his previous incarnations without retaining the corny-ness of old.

What we have here is Batman with a modern body suit similar to what he has in the comics: his utility belt, however, is more streamlined and designed to house a variety of objects, all buckled together in the Adam West-style. His cowl is designed to look like his original incarnation with the ears that slope up and inwards. Likewise, his logo is similar to that used on the TV show Batmobile and the inside lining of his cape reflects this as well: a subdued, dark crimson color in a cape design that is more reminiscent of Bela Legosi than anything we've seen so far.

So project rooftop has challened people to draw dick grayson as the new batman since bruce apparently died in the comics. I was thinking of starting a new thread for this but just thought I could put it here. So the challenge is draw who you think the succesor is. Design notes

For Dick Grayson as Batman I had in mind two Basic ideas:

1st: people already knows that the original Batman Died (as seen on Final crisis 6 and 7) so the new design must reflect that the new guy under the cowl is the one chosen by Batman, not any other new guy. the suit must reflect that Robin/ Nightwing is the new Bats in it’s design

2nd: Nightwing is the best acrobat of DC universe. The new suit should be as comfortable as possible; It has to allow him to move with freedom. Batman trained himself to use his bat-suit, but it doesn’t mean that it's comfortable


Based on the 1st concept I added ears to Nightwing’s symbol to make it a bat, and I painted it red to show that he is the original Robin (most people recognizes better Robin than Nightwing) also, the front side of the belt is not visible, to make the suit like Nightwing’s.
So, the new design is a mix between Nightwing and Bat’s suits, but with Robin’s colors, that way the all the story of Dick is part of the new suit

But the fact of Robin being Batman , could also play against him, so the new suit must help him to have the presence of the original Batman. Dark colors and details like the sharp single spikes/blades in the gloves can help giving two hints to his enemies: dark and dangerous


For the 2nd idea (freedom of movement) I didn’t add body armor under the suit , but the cloth of the cape is Bulletproof. Body armors could limit the movements of an acrobat but a cape made of a real-life bulletproof material can be light enough to let him carry it (Nightwing’s suit doesn’t have body armor and so he’s not used to have one, but as Batman he could face much more dangerous enemies than being Nightwing)

But Dick haven’t used a cape since many years ago (and when he did, the cape was smaller than Batman’s), so that could be uncomfortable to him too. To solve that, the cape is cut in two parts, smaller parts should let him move better, and if that’s not enough, he can also fold it in the back (or in a more realistic approach, just detach it)

This is a solution to the need of having a cape, One of the strengths of Batman is his presence, so the spiked cape or the eared cowl are things that the new suit must have to be the real Batman

The cowl is separated from the rest of the suit, to let him move the head without restrictions ( he always used Domino masks) . And he still carries his escrima sticks, he mastered the fighting with that weapon and he’ll need every gift he has to be Batman and not fail trying

My entry into Project Rooftop's Batman 2.0 challenge.

I was trying to keep all the necessary (and Frankly incredibly subtle) elements of Dick's Nightwing design and merge them with some classic Batman elements. My major sticking points were that one, as an acrobat Dick wouldn't wear the cape, and two, that to maintain the Batman silhouette without the cape required the ears. I chose to hybridize Dick's and Bruce's symbols on the front and back of the costume, making the front Bruce's with the feather like cuts from Dick's (a la his Teen Titans design) and on the back Dick's with the bat wings of Bruce's.

I wanted to keep a sleek feel to Dick so I tried to steer away from the utility belt (and the glove pockets) and simply gave him an all purpose pouch on his lower back. The redesigned gloves and shoes I wanted to work in with a sort of acrobat's leotard look and merge them with a sort of modern street ninja vibe. The batarangs were modified mainly to have a sleeker, deadlier looking profile and the eyes took primary inspiration from the newer Batgirl design.
