The DC/Marvel Rematch You Want

Wow! Namor is pretty badass if they ever use him to have those powers! But I guess they dumbed him down to make him more "relatable" cuase it's not good to have every power imaginable. *glares at SR dvd*

Namor is badass, period.

Yeah but he's badasser with all his powers.

I always thought there was no way to be more or less of a badass. Like being a badass is just like being a member of an exclusive club, there is no ranking.

I still blame Super-Friends. I think it's the single most damaging thing to happen to Aquaman. Throw all the cool moments you want into the comics; after Super-Friends, everyone will always remember Aquaman as that idiot who just talked to fish.
Don't forget the trick of throwing waterballs at people who we underwater... "Oh Noes, Aquaman is going to get us wet when we're underwater"

Aquaman can't do that. Only the ****ty Smallville Aquaman could do that, as far as I remember. Water manipulation was Mera and Koryak's power.

I say, give Marvel, and fans of a Marvel comics (yes! I am an unabashed fan of Mavel:cwink:) a long overdue victory. The writers of DC comics did not allow their precious Superman to come to ruin at the hands of the Silver Surfer and chose the more discreet route ("Dammit", the writers said. "Marvel has, hands down, got a superhero that could mop the floor with our precious Superman - the Silver Surfer! Ahh, I know, they'll team up and not fight at all"...). Anyone ever see Norrin Radd so pissed off he momentarily loses control? I saw Superman lose his cool against Captain Marvel in a 70's giant size comic. I would love to see the Surfer do the same to Supes, just unleash hell on that arrogant wiener...

So when Storm hits someone in the back of the head with a hurricane do you say "oh noes, Storm's gonna blow air on someone when they're in air!"?

I swear, this "Everything to do with Aquaman is automatically lame because it's Aquaman even though it's no different from the **** every single other superhero does" ******** gets on my last ****in' nerve

He's a damn dirty Skrull.

That MOTHER****ING SKRULL! I'LL CUT HIS ****ING THROAT!

:cmad:

seriously, by this point everyone is a skrull.

so ***** continuity...everything you know is a LIE.

Hey Corp, hate to call you out like this but you use to change your avator once or twice a month. You been stuck on the squirrels for awhile man. What's up with that?

He's throwing balls of water at people who are already underwater. He's not whipping up a riptide to drag people under. The only other character I've seen throw balls of water at people who were already underwater is Mermaidman who's a parody of Aquaman to begin with.

The balls of water that Aquaman was throwing were hard water balls. They were solid. Originally Mera had the power to solidify water into constructs that she could animate. The 60's cartoon then gave Aquaman the hard water balls as a weapon since he otherwise had no significant offensive abilities. At that time he wasn't considered very strong and even the people at DC didn't know whether he was super strong at all.

So DC people thought he was so lame that they needed to give him another power?

I think that it was the people who made the cartoon, not the DC people. Aquaman was always written as the type who was creative with his powers as opposed to a powerful badass.

I just think they should have played up the mystical angle more.
