So you wanted them to drag that cliffhanger out until 2019/2020?? No thanks! lol Given that The Hand will have some role in The Defenders, it makes perfect sense that Elektra would return then. But even if that weren't the case, excluding a major character from the first (and perhaps only) team-up show makes little sense. Honestly, I don't think she should have been killed off to begin with but I admit, there is a lot of story potential that could come from that. Lets also remember that the DD showrunners probably want to move on to new/different stories in S3 and S4 (if that comes to fruition) so wrapping up this cliffhanger in Defenders makes sense in that regard as well.

As for some of the earlier discussion, I'm pretty sure that Misty will get her bionic arm. The only question is when. I'd say she's at least likely to lose her arm in Defenders, as I can see tptb wanting to save that for an event series like this. And that's when Danny comes in, the one person in the Marvel/Netflix universe who could help her acquire a bionic arm. No, it doesn't have to come directly from Rand. It could easily come from some other place, with Danny simply having the resources/contacts to make it a reality.

It's not really surprising. We already knew she wasn't gone for good. And we knew The Hand is involved with Defenders. It makes sense really.

Anyone else feel like this series is an adaptation of both Shadowland and Bendis' New Avengers arc with Elektra leading The Hand?

I kind of hope we get some scenes of Matt being haunted by Elektra's death. Whether it's a dream or something else -- similar to those scenes in Elektra Lives Again or Something like her appearance in DD #37 by Bendis and Maleev only in a dream context.

Yeah, maybe in season 3 of Daredevil but not in The Defenders as she'll be appearing in The Punisher and thats supposed to be premiering after the mini series.

I kinda love how there's only 8 episodes. With the cast they have for it, there won't be any filler in the story.

I'm glad this series is only going to be 8 episodes. While enjoyable, these Netflix Marvel shows tend to peak around episode 6 or 7. Unfortunately losing a bit of focus and momentum in the latter half of the seasons.

Luke Cage and Jessica Jones both got flabby in the back half. Daredevil S2 got a little disjointed in the back half at times. Eight episodes means we will have a tight, focused season.
