the dumbest idea in comics,so far,for you.

I'm not sure if this classifies as an "idea" or just ill researched comic writing. However CIVIL WAR making [BLACKOUT]SHIELD an American law enforcement agency and DAMAGE CONTROL a Haliburton-esque evil corporation[/BLACKOUT]. Both things are so not what those books are about. It's not even a case of a re-envisioning or a re-imagining. It's literally like Millar/Bendis/Quesada seriously never read those books. There is not even an explanation or lead up as to why DC and SHIELD suddenly go all mass conspiracy on us. However DC is seriously the biggest "dumb idea" in my book [BLACKOUT]as a reader of the original series I don't see how you take a tongue and cheak book that has been unheard from for years now and suddenly say "they are behind it all (we assume)". I mean, as I say it's cool to change things but you have to justify it. This whole "whoops this is different now" style of writing is absurd. There ought to be a stage of buildup.

Plus I seriously am not buying the whole DC tie in.[/BLACKOUT]

The new HEROES FOR HIRE.

Come on, they're no different then the other hero-roundup squads seen in CIVIL WAR. What becomes of them once CIVIL WAR is over? "New status quo and jumping on point"? Snzzzz. If they were *true* heroes for hire, they'd be fence sitters who hired themselves out to *either* side of the battle on a regular basis, going back and forth not because they believe in any side but want to establish themselves and make some of the filthy lucra.

The Xorneto retcon clusterfock and how Marvel brought it about and to this day is still adding to remains, to me, the single worst idea and dumbest execution that either Marvel and DC has ever pulled. And considering that I'm counting in this the utter disrespect of Linda Danvers, Sins Past, and Decimation...that's saying a lot. It was the single event that made me lose all but the thinnest traces of faith in Marvel's editorial and company policies, the one moment where I knew beyond any doubt that the suits at Marvel treats us all like clueless idiots.

As long as we buy Marvel's comics, we *are* clueless idiots. So we'll be treated as such.

The dumbest idea, in my opinion, came when they resurrected Aunt May.

"Oh, that Aunt May who died was really an actress. Norman Osborn was holding the REAL Aunt May captive the whole time. And in the process we'll just ruin one of the greatest Spider-Man stories of all time, Amazing Spider-Man # 400"

I dropped Spidey comics and eventually stopped reading comic books for about 4 years or 5 years and then picked back up at the beginning of JMS' Spidey run. And then got Bendis' Daredevil. Then got Ultimate Spider-Man. Then got back into comics full force and there is a lot of awesomeness out there right now.

Another notable dumb idea....

Sins Past. Very, very horrible idea. Doesn't fit into the Spider-Man continuity at all and completey impossible to have happened, if you've read Amazing Spider-Man # 120 or # 121. Sins Past was a What If, in my book.

The Other. At first I was psyched about this storyline but JMS ruined his own idea, which is rather ironic. I loved the totem storyline, especially when I thought it was over a the end of The Book of Ezekiel, but they had to beat it into the ground and ruin it. This is another What If story to me, as well.

However, I love the unmasking. And loved the Clone Saga and the fact that Ben Reilly was the one true Spider-Man. Such a great story and all the so called "Real Spider-Man" fans had to go and ruin that for me. Thanks guys. :spidey:

Darthphere, that is some of the scariest art work I've ever seen.
Look at his neck, that's most impossible thing I have ever seen in a comic.
What happened? Did he develop a tumor in his throat?

Full body erection LOL!

Dumbest thing in comics for me is a tossup:

Superman getting killed by a guy they made up just to kill him so they could bring him back as 4 losers instead of the original one...

or...

Sprider clones.

1. The way Jay Guthrie's healing power was handled leading up to his death. Seriously, wtf?

2. XORN!!!

Warren's blood being used to cure anything on someone with the same blood type. I found it stupid as hell, though Austen did pull off a pretty decent issue about that.

No, thats the smartest thing Marvel has done lately.

No, he wouldnt, now go read Ultimates and be quiet.

No, not at all. So the Thing should eat people too?

well technatly the thing is bout 6'0 and not as savage

The Hulk is living, breathing, creature. Ultimate Hulk and 616 Hulk are vry different. It be really out of character to have 616 Hulk eat people, there no argument for it, so just stop.

It might be out of character now but Hulk's been out for bout 44 years now if they made him a cannabel in the first place it wouldn't be out of character would it?

And if they made him a little girl in a tutu in the first place that wouldn't be out of character either.

Weak argument my friend.

Ultimate Hulk wasn't out of character since its the Ultimate universe and has rather different takes on most character.
