I have my reservations -if only because Ms Mendes is Hispanic and her character in the original comic book was Anglo( I have made similar criticisms of "Daredevil" and "The Fantastic Four" movies )!

What I MEANT to say was that i was critical of the whole business of casting African Americans or Hispanics whose characters were unambiguously WHITE in the original comic books( such as Alicia Masters and Susan Storm in "Fantastic Four" and crimelord Kingpin in "Daredevil"- how would we feel if Tom Cruise or Matt Damon was cast as the Black Panther???)

I guess it depends on how attached to the character you are.

I like the actors to resemble the characters too, but Michael Clarke Duncan as the Kingpin in particular didn't bother me at all because he was excellent and I couldn't for the life of me think of anyone else who could have filled those huge shoes.
