Oh man...

Milla Jovavich gets a pass for those Resident Evil films? I'm not big on the Expendables films anyway, but I'm not really feeling her as an action star. and yes, I'm aware she's been in some other films as well. It isn't about her being female either, I think they could just get some more talented females to work with.

Yeah, when she's fighting zombies (and even that franchise is on its last leg judging by the domestic box office of the last film). Outside of Resident Evil, she's never drawn in a large audience.

But the international market is increasingly becoming more important and she literally does bring in the money there. Even if the Resident Evil movies don't bring in the domestic they more than make up for it in the international.

I dont think Jocovich was up for that one. Honestly I wasnt too impressed with the cast of that one. But in their defense they hadnt cast that many people.

Anyway maybe theyll use Milla Jovacich's character and make a spin off

That's kind of weird. I mean, they're going for 80s action stars. I doubt Stallone knows much about Resident Evil.

I've said it before, I don't consider Jovovich a real female action star. Would have liked Michelle Yeoh against Nan Yu.

I bet you he's seen a couple of them, or at least the action scenes. He probably went "Oh, she would be perfect for this film" and approached her.

But Michelle Yeoh isn't that well known here in the States... people will know her from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Mummy 3 but she doesn't have that recognition Jovovich has. Nan Yu was an unknown, but then she wasn't on the one-sheet artwork for Expendables 2.

I'm not a fan of Resident Evil, but I'm definitely going to see this for Chan, Li, Jovovich, and Snipes.

They have the F&F franchise. And they got Statham now too. The rest of the cast might not be as a big of stars as Expendables, but the way I see it, Vin and Rock being in a movie together in their prime is better than when they're old like Stallone and company are now. Beyond just seeing those names on screen together, I don't find the Expendables films to be as fun to watch as Fast Five and Six.

Milla Jovovich is a bad-ass! Even though the Resident Evil films are bad, she carried all of the films.
