The Expendables 2

Con Air is an action classic and he was so close to making a great thriller with The Generals Daughter, but these movies were over a decade ago and it's been downhill all the way since.

His latest was The Mechanic, how was that?

The direction in the first movie is awful so West should be better by default.

It's a typical Statham movie with a little bit more intelligence. No shaky cam. Ben Foster was fantastic.

All I want is Willis and Arnold. I don't care what's surrounding Arnold now, I want to see this before I die. It's pretty unlikely now. But I could at least settle for Willis.

^^ Same here, lol.

What are the chances of getting Van Damme, Steven Seagal, and Chuck Norris this time around?

Van Damme about 95%
Seagal 0%
Norris 50/50

So the action gets your nod of approval?

Yes. There's a major fight scene between Ben Foster and a 6'7 hitman, which is well shot and definitely better than the ones in The Expendables.

According to Randy Couture via TWITTER http://***********/#%21/Randy_Couture (update from July 22) Expendables 2 will begin filming September 20, 2011, presumably in Bulgaria which has been mentioned as the prime filming location with I'm sure a few other short visits to other locations. Expendables 2 sees the return of Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Randy Couture and Dolph Lundgren to the cast thus far and welcomes new arrivals Jean-Claude Van Damme and Tom Sizemore as villains. Simon West (The Mechanic) will takeover from Stallone as director. Expendables 2 hits theaters August 17, 2012!!!

A star-packed movie featuring Bruce Willlis, Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, John Travolta, Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme among others is to be shot in Bulgaria, Bulgaria-based NU Boyana studios CEO David Varod has confirmed. He talks about the much-anticipated sequel to "The Expendables", as well as other exciting prospects, in an exclusive interview for Novinite.com (Sofia News Agency).
Some very big names have been mentioned recently as very likely to shoot in Bulgaria soon, the likes of Bruce Willis and Silvester Stallone. Is there any development on that?
Yes, we are definitely going to do that project. It is going to be a sequel the "The Expendables". The shooting is going to take place the second week of September. The movie is on, definitely. It will be a very good thing for Bulgaria, since there are some very big stars coming.
Would you disclose some of the names coming for sure?
Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, John Travolta, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke...who else? Of course, Bruce Willis. The director is Simon West, who is also a name. He is already here and has started working on the film. I believe the sequel will be better than the first movie.

Some of the names sound dubious to me. Particularly Chuck Norris who as far as I can tell is "retired" from the business (his last appearence was six years ago and he's gone Christian Conservative to a large degree) and is not likely to show up in a movie like this anymore. Would be awesome if it were true though. John Travolta too sounds sketchy.

Isn't Travolta gaining weight to play John Gotti?

And Tom Sizemore? He's very unreliable. Also Arnold has some issues, although I don't know if he's resolved those issues yet.

Also, no Rock, which isn't surprising, seeing as how it'll probably conflict with GI Joe.

I didn't expect Travolta at all :wow:Vandamme is ok since he was rumoured for the first ! Norris is surprise to me too (not as much as Travolta though), I thought he was retired !!!

Not sure I buy the Travolta/Norris thing. I'll wait till I hear more concrete confirmations before I get excited

Arnold/Travolta/Norris......Joining Willis/Stallone/Lundgren/Jet-Li/Statham&Rourke!?Action testosterone awesomeness to the max IF actually true!

Missing Mark Dascascos, Billy Blanks, Don Wilson, Steven Seagal, Danny Trejo and Michael Dudikoff

I loved Stallones vision for the first film, I wish he was returning as director for the sequel. But Simon West has made some pretty action packed movies in the past, more importantly the late 90's with the start of Con Air.

I don't know if I can believe that source about Travolta or Norris. But I'm glad to see Tom Sizemore up for a villain role.

I wouldn't buy all that just yet. Norris maybe as a cameo, but Sly denied Travolta was in the film way back when.

I'd love Sizemore to play a sleazy CIA guy, maybe with Robert Davi and David Patrick Kelly by his side.

Sizemore as Willis' right hand man would be pretty bad ass. But of course, who would he go up against on Barneys team that's even an equal match? lol.

Sizemore is a very talented and underrated actor, no doubt about it. But I see him being cast in anything as a major risk.
