The FACEBOOK Thread - Part 2

Yeah I cyberstalked almost everyone I ever liked online too.

I had 2 people who forgot who I was and another 2 I finally met after a long time.

I think it's only natural to see how everyone is doing.

Alot of the girls i used to like, and looked hot in HS look absolutely terrible now....looks like they did me a favor by turning me down back then.:oldrazz:

The girl I mentioned in the earlier post, when I looked at her the first thing I thought was "wait, this is who I was attracted to?". I mean her looks didn't change but she wasn't as attractive as I remember.

Unless I was paying more attention to her body.

I've looked up all my high school crushes , lol. I think what's flattering is that sometimes I get tracked down and added. Also I'm friends on fb with all my exes and even people I didn't get along with in HS.

I've found a few people from high school. In fact, I just had a girl find me. Her and I were friends when we were 10! Haven't seen each other in 25 years!

Has anyone tried to find people they knew from high school or elementary school (old friends, crushes, etc.) through Facebook?

Lately I've been wanting to just see how some of the people I knew look like now, or how they're living. I found out this girl I had a thing for lives in Mississippi and has two kids and a husband.

My freshmen year of college was the year facebook was launched and at the time you could only sign on with a .edu e-mail address. The only people that you friended at the time were people that you knew in college and people you went to high school with. Pretty crazy how facebook has changed since 04.

I would definitely do it. In my experience, they really appreciate you put effort in finding them because occasionally, they also have been searching for you for all these years.

I just made contact with friends that I have not been in contact with since 1994. Some of them through facebook, and some after meeting them we became facebook contacts.

One of them I am now invited to her wedding, another I visited a month ago and we are in contact again. There are three in the east coast I intend to visit whenever I have a chance to go to the east coast again.

It's worth it, you should do it.

Yeah, I was a Junior in high school when Facebook first started becoming available to everyone, and I remember having only 3 friends because no one was using it. Then suddenly like 6 months later, it seemed like more and more people were using it. And now, it's like everyone and their mother (literally) are on it.

One thing I have had trouble with is locating my half-brother from my father's side. I think I found his myspace account but that's been inactive for a while. I haven't seen my father in about 5 years, and I've kinda wanted to fix that but I have no way of doing so since he lives somewhere in Rhode Island and me in NY.

I found a few old buddies from high school not too long ago. We actually talked on the phone a few times. But sadly, neither of us will be able to make it to the 10 year reunion this September.

Also I found a cousin that I haven't seen since I was 8 years old. I finally got to thank him for the Sega he bought, and showed him that I still had it.

Just out of random curiosity, I whipped out my Yearbook and looked up a few people I was curious about a few years ago. As a general rule though, if I didn't care enough to stay friends with them outside of High School, then I don't care enough to be cyber friends with them.

Although some guy I knew in like the third grade added me to facebook not too long ago and I thought that was the weirdest ****ing thing.

I've looked for the girl that got away on Facebook and Myspace. No luck yet.:csad:

Facebook, you done f***** up this time.

And they're awful, my page hasn't changed yet but my sister showed me hers and I don't like it. Good thing I don't use facebook home page that much anyway. Just messages really.

So I made the leap to Google +

Good luck, it's only going to quickly try and catch up with what Facebook is doing.

Exactly!

A lot of my friends are all crying like babies about Facebook making a few changes and they're all pissed off at me because I called them what they are, which is a bunch of sheep and bandwagoners jumping to the next "cool" thing.

Sorry, but Google+ is going to do the exact same thing and all those crybabies are just going to jump to the next big social networking site. I use Facebook to keep in touch with family or friends that live far away to where I never get to see them, Facebook works just fine for that. I don't care about what's hip or cool since I don't let the media or advertising tell me how to think.

From what I've heard of Google+ it doesn't even sound all that great anyways. Not sure what's the big deal with it.

I've been using Facebook for a few years now to keep in contact with friends & family who live pretty far away, and now we all get to watch when someone is married or having a baby. Google+ sounds like a new thing that people may flock to, but since no one I know has said that he or she is using it, what's the point? Google+ is likely to have another social network site that seems cool and hip to join, but will dry up due to lack of support.

The most recent changes don't seem like that big of a deal to me. But people gotta complain.

See i've always had a problem with Facebook's updates. They should be making it more easier and intuitive instead of making it more convoluted and filling up spaces. And I've tried Google + and Squirrel is right, it's pretty similar to facebook. The only thing different is more space, which is a good thing but I'm not totally jumping over to Google + yet. And I find it funny people keep bringing up "oh it's a free site, you should be happy that you are on it."
