Yeah, and then there's nurses who think they ****ing know everything. It's like you've got to fight to make sure that your loved ones are taken care of appropriately.
Nurse: "The doctor's orders say he's only supposed to be on 2L of oxygen."
Family: "No, we just drove five hours to a specialist that said he needs to be on 6L constantly."
Nurse: "But the doctor's order's say -"
Family: "- you're really going to challenge a specialist's orders?"
Family: "Is he getting his breathing treatments?"
Nurse: "It's not in the doctor's orders."
Family: "He does at least four breathing treatments a day. He can't go without them. He has his inhaler then, right?"
Nurse: "Well, he's not allowed to keep it in here with him."
Family: "So you're telling us that someone who has end-stage emphysema, less than 18% lung capacity and should be getting breathing treatments every four hours and isn't, and is only getting a third of the oxygen he needs, has to call a nurse everytime he needs to use his inhaler?"
I'll tell you what, in a matter of minutes, there was 6L of oxygen, an inhaler available to him and breathing treatments every four hours. Dumb ****s.
