Damn, for real? What did they do? Or do you want to save that for a one on one call?

Well, I can go for hours about how much the local hospital has ****ed up my dad's life in the past fifteen years, including coming extremely close to death at least five times as a result of their carelessness. But this time wasn't as serious. Still, the details aren't Hype material. But he missed his 30th anniversary party because of it. 'So ****ing sick of the hospital.

Sorry to hear that man. I'll agree that hospitals do suck. Sometimes doctors just don't know what the **** is good for a patient. They told my grandmother she would be fine, she died 7 hours later.

I've never seen two posters have the same avatar before.

Well that happened about 11 years ago. My other grandmother on my dads side, lived to be 94. When she passed, we were able to spend her last few minutes with her. She said, "I've lived 94 years, I think I'm ready." Not once did she act too sick on her deathbed. She even told the doctor she wanted some Irish Whiskey, and that he had a nice butt. :woot: That woman was great.

Yeah, and then there's nurses who think they ****ing know everything. It's like you've got to fight to make sure that your loved ones are taken care of appropriately.

Nurse: "The doctor's orders say he's only supposed to be on 2L of oxygen."
Family: "No, we just drove five hours to a specialist that said he needs to be on 6L constantly."
Nurse: "But the doctor's order's say -"
Family: "- you're really going to challenge a specialist's orders?"

Family: "Is he getting his breathing treatments?"
Nurse: "It's not in the doctor's orders."
Family: "He does at least four breathing treatments a day. He can't go without them. He has his inhaler then, right?"
Nurse: "Well, he's not allowed to keep it in here with him."
Family: "So you're telling us that someone who has end-stage emphysema, less than 18% lung capacity and should be getting breathing treatments every four hours and isn't, and is only getting a third of the oxygen he needs, has to call a nurse everytime he needs to use his inhaler?"

I'll tell you what, in a matter of minutes, there was 6L of oxygen, an inhaler available to him and breathing treatments every four hours. Dumb ****s. :down.

That's awesome. I'd love to be one of those kinds of old ladies some day. :)

I'm sorry for your unfortunate situation Bamf.

Thanks, but don't be. I'm just venting. My father's fine for now. And there's a lot of people who have it way worse, so, I consider myself lucky that I have my family, that we're all together and probably closer than ever. But yeah, I had to blow off some steam... my sisters and I put together a party for them and he winded up in the hospital and, of course, felt like he ruined the weekend. So everyone just kind of felt bad all around. It wasn't fair to my folks.

Yeah, just when you think you have it bad someone always has it worse. Co-worker of mine had her 12 year old daughter hit by some lady who was texting on her phone. The kid survived but has severe brain damage. Not sure you can top that for suckage. :(

Afternoon everyone. Hope everyone had a fun Sunday (It's Sunday, there's never any fun on Sunday usually.)

I played darts, that was quite fun for a Sunday.

I prefer a day of rest during the week, like a Tuesday.

I'll take a day of rest any time. I ain't that picky. :p

I can't rest on a Friday. Too much to do (Why everything gets crammed on a Friday I we don't know)

Tuesday has no personality, it should be the official day of rest.

I would rather rest on hump day (i.e. Wednesday)

When my grandmother was in the hospital, she fell on her way to the bathroom because the dumb ***** nurse who was supposed to help her walked in front of her and wasn't even paying attention.

So I've agreed to do some suspension stuff in a few weeks. I'm pretty excited about it. I'll post pics.

For those who aren't familiar with suspension: http://tinyurl.com/ykv3ubt

We're gonna do it at our gym. I really wanna pull a car in the parking lot. :awesome:
