Knowing that Batman is being brought into the shared universe; it makes it clear that there is only one unknown member for the Justice League.

The first four are without doubt Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash. You can't have a JL without the four biggest properties, but who do you select for number five? Do you go with the already established Green Lantern (and hope it boosts dvd sales) or do you use this to introduce a lesser known character like Martian Manhunter or Hawkwoman?

Assuming it's a five man League you reboot Green Lantern in Justice League. Done.

Obviously Green Lantern, if i had to choose a 6th member i would go with Aquaman

GL with Ryan Reynolds isn´t gonna happen, he said so himself.

My first choice is HG if I can´t have her then AQ,GL,MMH,CapMar

1. Hawkgirl, she is different and can provide good lore as well as combat. It´s also a girl. It could be nice to se her and Diana have a girlish friendlish relationship in the JL.
2. Aquaman. As someone earlier mentioned, this guy can be pretty militant. I would really like that contrast. I think somehow he could be special in the same way Thor is special in the Avengers.
3. Green Lantern. He is hard to get right and the previous movie sucked big time. This one needs introduction. That is for sure. And don´t say Hal must be a founding member. The big screen isn´t the same as the comics!
4. Martian Manhunter abilities are unique in the JL and I think that he could be done in a really cool way. He is also fit to lead. To have him in base could mean more field missions for Batman.
5.Captain Marvel. Normally i wouldn´t pick him. I really want to see Black Adam and Dr Fate at some point tho. To bring Billy could introduce that god magic branch of the DCU. He could be introduced in JL 2 so he doesn´t have to be one of the 5 but still :)

Everybody that says anything about news in the Wonder Woman and Flash scripts says WB is looking to get GL on film again, so i don't think they're going with another character that may prove to be a risk instead. And what's the problem in Ryan Reynolds not going back to the role? They can recast, or use John Stewart instead, who not only has a huge demand by the public but would bring more diversity to the team.

Green Lantern John Stewart is the only way to go.

Im gonna say Green Lantern, John Stewart. Hal is possible but I think WB will be thinking "diversity" and "Hal had his movie and it bombed!".

Aquaman needs his own movie before becoming a full member. So it wont be him. There's not enough time.

There's no way they're dealing with Hawkman or especially Hawkgirl. That's a pipedream for the fans of the animated series. John Stewart is a different story now.

Could they use Martian Manhunter or Cyborg as the 5th member if theyre A) scared of using the "Green Lantern" name and B) wanting to have their "African-American" on the team anyway?

Sure. Im expecting fans to be disappointed because Zack could end up going with the New 52 lineup. Which means no MM. Maybe Cyborg will be the 5th member standing next to Flash since apparently Goyer threw in a reference to S.T.A.R Labs in MOS...

Honestly, im up for anything as long as the big 4...Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash (Barry Allen) are there.

DC's always had a Big 5. After the marquee names, Bats and Supes, Wonder Woman is #3, Flash and GL are #4 and #5 (although GL might be #4), so it will be those five. The only way there will be other characters is if the WB opts for 6 or 7 characters.

They could, in the same way as they aren´t gonna have Pym as Ultron´s dad, avoid having a GL as founding member. J.S could therefore join TJL when a threat big enough is forming on earth (in JL 2 or 3).

Does Aquaman need to be a full member? All league members has their own stuff to do even if Aquaman is the king of Atlantis.

Yea Hawkgirl/man is a lost cause, maybe when DC heroes get solo movies, but not likely.

I think it´s between Cyborg, MMH and J.S as GL really.

Why not W.W as Flash?

Hold off on Green Lantern for a while and go with Martian Manhunter.

ppfff that an easy one......ME!! lol, but if for some crazy ass reason I'm not available to join with the rest of team awesome.....I'd say Green Lantern for space sector 2814....not going to say which one though :p

Superman
Batman
Wonder Woman
Flash
Green Lantern (preferably John Stewart but Hal Jordan works as well)

Due to screen time and character development, I think Aquaman should be saved for the first sequel and the Martain Manhunter in the next though I'd love for him to have been disguised as someone in human forms throught the series until the big reveal during a fight scene.

If Cyborg is in it,I'd rather it be in the first film and idealisticly he'll leave the group and form the Titans as their team lead/mentor.

I want to see Aquaman antagonize the League at first since he'd come out of the ocean with his pretentious "I'm the king of the sea" deal and probably be angry with the surface-dwellers for attracting such a ruckus to the planet (Zod's threat as well as whatever other villains show their faces before JL). He should only join the team because he has to due to dire need.

However, Martian Manhunter should be the opposite. He should be eager to join the team after witnessing the pain of losing a world to villainy. He should be friendly to the likes of Wonder Woman or Aquaman since they'd undoubtedly relate best to him as outsiders in a new world. I'd like to see him involved in the movies in a human form as others have said. If the audience gets a chance to develop interest and attachment to the character like Coulson in Marvel films, his big reveal could be very instrumental in getting public support for the character as a hero to be featured in other films.

As far as the "fifth member" thing goes, why not GL? It's not the character that people disliked, it was the poorly executed movie. Look at Superman Returns vs. Man of Steel or the previous Hulk movies vs. audience reaction to him in Avengers. A turnaround can certainly happen and the best way for that to come about would be Justice League in my opinion.

I think Aquaman has a legitimate shot at showing up in the first JL film. I read an interview with Diane Nelson a few weeks ago and she made it sound like an Aquaman film could happen in the near future.

I've mentioned in another post that I'd like to see the Aquaman movie released right before the JLA movie with Aquaman being possessed by Starro at the end his movie and starting off an antagonist for the team before joining them against Starro in the Justice League.

My JL SHOULD BE: Supes, Bats, WW, Flash, MM, Green Lantern

The main 5 seem locked in to me:
• Superman
• Batman
• Wonder Woman
• Flash
• Green Lanter

But I still want Aquaman!

The comic fan inside me says Martian Manhunter but the politician within says do a race swap with someone like Hawkwoman or Captain Marvel (Dwayne Johnson) and get a person playing a character that is a real American of color (not a shapeshifting alien).

As much as I want Aquaman, if it's restricted to five it has to be:

1. Superman
2. Batman
3. Wonder Woman
4. Flash
5. Green Lantern

Anything else would be disappointing.

Well the leads are obviously going to be GL, Aquaman, and MM

It should be Hal. He was in the League long before John.

I think Cyborg has a chance too. I could see him sharing the scene with Hal.

I have a feeling Goyer will NOT write in MM at all. Since he keeps saying Cyborg is referenced in MOS.

Cyborg is on the same level of ****-tier characters as Booster Gold. If they really just want a black actor; they can do a race swap on a better (far more iconic) character like Shazam, Hawkwoman, Dr. Fate, Blue Beetle, or Captain Atom.
