The Flash (Cancelled)

Wow, this game looks like it was the exact same concept for a Flash game I would have made. It looks a lot like Sonic the Hedgehog in a lot of ways, which is the very thing I said that a good Flash game should take inspiration from. Lots of fast running sections combined with peppy combat sequences is what a good Flash game should be.

Oh well, maybe if the movie gets made they'll resurrect this idea. I just hope they get a decent developer to make it instead of shipping it off to some shovelware house like they do with so many tie-in games.

What is it with DC superheroes, anwyay? Batman is the only one with a successful movie franchise, and he's also the only one whose game got made instead of being canceled. Look at what happened to Factor 5's Superman game...

They were certainly on the right track for what a Flash game could/should be. I would've loved to play this.

It looked very good considering it was only about 1/3 of the way into development. Shame we'll never get to see the finished product.

I saw . Has Captain Cold been in a game yet, at all? Have any of the Rogues?

I believe The Rogues are in the DCU online MMO. Grodd was in the Justice League Heroes games and Zoom and the Black Flash are its Flash spin off for the GBA. The way Black Flash was incorporated was pretty clever IMO.

The Flash's rogues gallery really lends itself to great boss battles because they have good gimmicks. Really the one thing that the batman game nailed was the combat which is what these superhero games have to do.

The superman game looked promising too, its really ashame that brash went under because I think thats what caused these games to be cancelled.

I'm also surprised they haven't tried wonder woman in a god of war style game, hopefully this dc entertainment gets they're butts in gear and that the batman game paved the way.

Other characters need games before Wonder Woman. The Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow and a good Superman game all need to be made before they even consider a Wonder Woman title.

Why? Marvel made movies featuring Blade first and that turned out well. A character's relative popularity doesn't necessarily have to dictate their place in line for translations to other media.

Not to say they couldnt be good Corp, but it'd feel like a slap in the face if someone like Wonder Woman got a good game before Supes.
I don't know why they couldnt make another game like Superman returns, but with more variety, villains, less lameness... The flying was cool, but it was alot like the movie... lots of flying, no actual action.

I want to see those games too project pat, I just think wonder woman could be a relatively easy sell especially since games based on female characters are popular. Not to mention Wonder Woman seems like it would be a lot easier to make with great settings and the combat skill/weapons she has. Games like green lantern and the flash seem like someone needs to get really creative with how to make a good game, not to mention a lot more time because they need massive worlds.

I'd be happy to have any great video games featuring comic characters, regardless of the order, but I guess that's just me. It'd be a little weird if, say, a Blue Beetle game were made before a Green Lantern game, but I wouldn't take it as some kind of imaginary insult to the bigger character.

I think it would be better if they avoided doing movie tie in games and did comic book based games to allow for more freedom. We all know there is a green lantern game coming to coincide with the movie, will it be good, probably not.

Wolvieboy17 they were making a superman game which factor 5 was developing, that actually looked promising, theres some concept art and a 30 second trailer somewhere on the net, google it. I think the most upsetting part is that factor 5 seemed like it would have a handle on the flying aspect which is important.

Or WB will take the wrong message from AA's success and try to darken their other superhero games, like they initially wanted to do to their superhero movies after Batman Begins and TDK's success. Never underestimate WB upper management's ability to f*** everything up.

Ah well... In 24 hours or so, Uncharted 2 will be within my grasp, and then I won't have to think about other games for quite a while (At least until AC 2 comes out)

Yes, but we're talking about Wonder Woman. She is one of the holy trinity of DC. You never see GL or Flash standing all iconic with Bruce and Clark. It might just be cuz of her huge boobs though.

That do not mean GL and FLash are not great super heroes.....Their still iconic and mainstream.

DC comics has 5 core character in batman, superman, wonder woman, flash and gl. If the GL movie gets made and with the way his comics are going right now he is slowly becoming part of the dc trinity.

It probably has to do with DC having a parent company to go through. Marvel just pitched and licensed out their properties to Fox, Sony, and Universal until they had enough revenue to open their own movie studio. DC probably has to wait for someone at Warner Bros. to get interested in a character before a movie can get made.
