No one likes to see video games being cancelled.
Sure, some are for the best, they are awful or totally generic, but there are some that makes us all cry a little inside.
So, this thread is to a tribute to those video games, the ones that got the plug pulled, be it good or bad...let´s start with one of the most recent of all:
Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned
Developer: Propaganda Games
Publisher: Disney Interactive Studios
Yes, Propaganda Games is no more, Disney closed them after Tron: Evolution, it was the first developer to close doors in 2011.
It was a really stupid decision by Disney, as they don´t have a lot a great developers, the other two being Junction Point (Warren Spector) and Black Rock Studios (Pure and Split Second).
Propaganda were starting to work on Turok 2, it was cancelled or put on hold for them to being POTC and then it was cancelled for Tron: Evolution....and then they were closed, i don´t get this stupid decisions.
But back on the cancelled game
I hope that Disney reconsiders, the Pirates of the Caribbean universe is an amazing one for video games, besides, for all i know, the game was almost done.
It´s a mix of Pirates (duh), horror, action adventure, supernatural...with a touch of saturday morning cartoons like ThunderCats and Masters of the Universe.

It looked very Fable like, but that is not a bad thing...

The game would give players a character who has a predetermined appearance and personality, and based on their actions, the player will shape the character. Choices the player makes in the game would change the appearance and personality of the character. The game's main focus would be to allow players to choose how their character is seen in the world. This would allow some players to be more feared while some are just more respected. Exploration would take place in a mixture of land and sea. Combat would be real-time instead of turn-based and would allow the player to customize weapons. The open world would also be filled with wandering artificial intelligence and, based on the way the player interacts with the AI in the game, the world would change the game's main plot. The game would also allow players to make allegiances with nations based on the path they choose. When the game's designer, Alex Peters, was asked about sword combat he said the player will be able to "attack, parry and counter their enemies" but when asked about ship combat, he replied, "Without giving away anything at this early stage, our approach is vastly different than any other game.
Small details have been released about the plot. Though the game takes place in the universe of the film series Pirates of the Caribbean, it would take place before the events of the film series and is not connected to it in any way, featuring an original plot. However, it seems as you progress through the game you'll choose to be either a dreaded, feared pirate or a respected, legendary pirate.
