Yeah I'm glad he has them as well, but the reasoning was very left field, or rather lack of reasoning lol.

I think the suit works for the settings mainly taking place at night or in dark areas, but can't wait for them to go lighter.

The show is pretty good thus far though.

My favourite part of the costume is by far the cowl. Really glad they pulled it off. Before the reveal, I remember wondering how they would do it - Green Arrow's costume by comparison is so simple to convert into live action. A full bodied suit with a cowl, not so much.

My main issue now, isn't so much the suit, but Gustin himself. This isn't hate as I love his portrayal of Barry, I just wish he would bulk up and get some more muscle, especially in his legs/thighs. I think someone with a 100 metre sprinters body in the current suit would make it look amazing. It's early in the shows stage though so there's every chance this could happen. Hopefully Amell can give him some tips!

Idk if this is relevant or not, but I run hurdles, 1600, and 200. I am really skinny. Not out of shape, but super skinny, along with some other of my teamates I run with. I think hes not to far off tbh. I can see where you are coming from though. Probably just my metablism, but I thought his body made sense.

It's definitely relevant, I ran cross country for a few years, Grant Gustin's build is identical to a number of distance runners I ran with (including myself). I think a distance build is more appropriate for Flash anyways, since he's on the move so often and not running short distances.

I like a lean flash, but I agree that he can use some muscles in the arms and legs if the series gets picked up for additional seasons. In other movies I have seen him in he has had the same build. I like the skinny build on him though right now. Makes you believe the reason others may not suspect some skinny guy could be the "blur" a hero saving people and fighting crime.

Can't wait to see the real flash suit though. I'd imagine they would make the cowl's neck a thinner material so it doesn't bunch up when he is turning too much, but then again it may just look like a thick material and might not feel so bad when Grant has it on.

Also, would be better if they closed the mouth area slightly as it almost goes back to where his jaw meets his ear.

Yeah that's totally relevant and a fair point. Although I want the Flash to generally have a sprinters physique, he also runs huge distances, and has a massive metabolism, which you can say would give him a leaner, skinnier physique - which one would win out?

Either one could be accurate builds for a visual representation of his power. I'm just one of those people who likes to have their heroes pretty big/built. And I totally admit the likes of Cavill, Evans, Hemsworth and Amell have spoiled me when it comes to people getting into ridiculously amazing shape.

I'd love to see a manip of the Flash suit as it is right now, with no actual design changes, but with a more muscular buid, just to see how effective a change it might be. And I feel I need to add I'm completely over the moon with the show and this is me being nit picky.

I'm trying to catch up on the show and trying hard to enjoy it, but it's really hard to get past the ugliness of the costume. It's like, "God forbid an outfit that is supposed to evoke fiery, raw energy shouldn't look BROWN". It definitely needs to be tighter, sleeker... cooler. Coolness is good.

I heard they were going to alter the costume a bit later in the season. Make it more tighter and form fitting, like the comics. I imagine this isn't the lasting costume look, but still a nice start for the beginning origins of Flash.

I like the suit quite a bit. My main prob is the red where the white is. Seriously, that bugs that crap out of me. I actually dont think the texture like on the SPider-man suit etc would look good on Flash. Spider-mans works so good because of the webbing imo. I think the lightening bolts compensate pretty nicley for the lack of texture. It adds something to it.

Omg you and me both. It's the single design element that makes no sense at all to me. That's really my ONLY issue with it.

The series only started over here in the UK a few weeks back – just had episode 3 last night – and really enjoying it so far! Love Grant Gustin as Barry, and only have a few little nit-picks with the series so far.
That said, really don't like the costume! I don't know what it is with DC - they seem almost embarrassed by their heroes. Instead of 'Green Arrow' we have 'Arrow', instead of Superman we had 'The Blur' and now we have "The Red Streak' instead of 'The Flash'... even though they seem to be uneasy with the Flash actually being Red, instead he's more of a burgundy!
Embrace your heroes DC – have them actually wear their costumes with pride! Arrow looks better now he has a proper mask, and the Flash would look a million times better if he wasn't wearing a dark red leather two-piece!
Please, please upgrade his costume a.s.a.p.

Good eye - Looks like that suit is an improvement too, so that's awesome.

On a side note, first time I saw that Wayne Tech mentioned in that bottom left hand corner.

I know the flash was a big fan of batman before.

Well here are my 2cents on the newish suit that should be showing up likely after the whole Reverse Flash eppy.

Seriously give him some yellow gloves, yellow shoes, partial yellow pants, and the suit could be leagues better. I'd actually put some yellow on the mask sorta like how the new 52 does it.

edit: Comparing to another image. Everything else is the same. They have not altered the boots. Seriously the belt, boots, and cuff if they were yellow would be perfect. Also they have indeed given the actor a cup unless his man bits have grown a great deal since the pilot. Though this could be a stunt suit which is why he has a cup. His neck also seems to be modified I can't be positive but he can now lower his head without bunching up the neck on the suit. This is a big deal if it's indeed been changed because the actor positions his head up in a certain way like Keaton for Batman.

Looks like the belt is cut differently too, in zig zag instead of straight, though I'd have to double check with the old suit. They should put some gold trim on the belt and wrist areas and make those boots gold, and of course the red part of the symbol being white would be great.

No the belt has always been Zig Zag. It's just so minor. Then again I now wish they the belt yellow as well. Hell basically more yellow.

Overall they made some very minor changes from the pilot costume.

That new version of the cowl is definitely an improvement! I always thought the current one looked weird with the mouth hole going so far back.

Really, I'd love the suit if they used the same basic suit but "traditionalised" it. Remove the gold piping, remove the belt and that huge buckle, then add traditionally styled lightning trim that's very close to what Shipp had in the 90s - around the belt and around the forearms.

I'd be okay with keeping the boots red, but I'd at least like to see what all gold would look like. And make the chest circle silvery (i.e. "metallic white").

And lastly, a modification of the ear thingies to be a bit more traditional.

I'm sure the movie version will be a lot more "spandexy".
