The Flash reboot (Gunnverse) Wishlist and discussion

Hi all,

It’s unlikely we will get news on a new Flash movie for a while but I still think it’ll be fun to chat about one.

What sort of vibes would you want for a new Flash film? I definitely want something more family friendly kind of early live action Nickelodeon vibes next time. Something like Ben 10 or clockstoppers

IMO… to differentiate from the two most recent portrayals (particularly Ezra’s), age Barry up. If not a complete contemporary to Kyle Chandler’s Hal, then at least someone you can believe would’ve had some adventures with him in the past. I’m thinking late 40s at the youngest.

Then you kill him and pass the torch to Wally, who would ideally be 1) Iris’s nephew, not brother, and 2) right around Dick Grayson’s age.

If they do Barry for a 4th time - Make him BLONDE FINALLY. Needs to stand out from the other 3.

Though I'd prefer Wally, red hair and all. Maybe make it a Flash/Kid Flash film.

I'd be surprised if Wally isn't the main Flash. I like the Matt Lintz fancast I've seen elsewhere.

Maybe Gunn can borrow from George Miller's unmade Justice League movie and include Barry in the DCU's take before he sacrifices himself at the end and moving on to Wally.

Honestly, I’d throw a curve and do Barry’s death at the end of act one.

Count Me in as wanting Wally West the next time around.

We've had 3 live action versions of Barry Allen at this point , and David Goyer's original Flash script, a couple decades ago, was going to feature The Flash mantle going to Wally West anyway.

They could allude to Barry Allen and Jay Garrick, but I think it's Wally West's time to shine.

Yeah I love Barry but after the Ezra Miller debacle, let’s switch to Wally for a while. Wash some of the stink of that version away.

Wasn't Ryan going to be Wally?

Honestly, I think WB was going to go through with it, but backed out on the character and wanted a GL movie and put him in that instead.

Honestly, I think WB was going to go through with it, but backed out on the character and wanted a GL movie and put him in that instead.

He was when David Goyer was attached, but the movie ultimately went through a plethora of different filmmakers (David Dobkin and Shawn Levy were on board at different points) , and around the same time Geoff Johns' Green Lantern run became a big thing, so Warner Bros. likely thought that had more of a chance at the box office.

Anyway, as long as we're finally moving away from Geoff Johns' origin for Barry Allen (you don't have to completely negate it, it just shoudn't be the character's focus), I'm fine with every possible option.
