Yeah, people love that Robocop poster. You guys should see my Lebowski and Big Trouble in Little China ones.

Some price drops on Amazon.com that should probably be mentioned.

The X-Men Trilogy was $54.99 and just dropped down to $48.49.

Every MGM catalog title coming June 2nd has dropped down to $15.99 each.

X-Men must've gone back up, because it's $54.99 now.

Yep guess it didn't last long. I managed to get that price. But keep your eyes open Amazon's prices always go up and down.

I missed pre-ordering it before the price went back up but I am still debating on whether or not to get it also. I've always loved the X-Men characters but didn't really enjoy the movies all that much when I first got them on DVD so upgrading to Blu-Ray would probably just be a waste of money for me to begin with.

Well the Blu-ray set is getting really good reviews and its a 9 disc set.

And even though they are doing it with a movie that pretty much bombed it looks like New Line/WB is following the footsteps of Disney.

Inkheart Announced for Blu-ray Release

New Line Home Entertainment in conjunction with Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the Brendan Fraser fantasy film 'Inkheart' to Blu-ray on June 23rd, day-and-date with the DVD release. Video will be presented in 2.40:1 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

Extras for this release include:

* Additional Scenes
* "Eliza Reads to Us" featurette in which co-start Eliza Bennett shares a favourite Inkheart passage not in the movie, accompanied by Cornelia Funke illustrations
* "A Story from the Cast and Crew" featurette – Novelist Funke plays “Tell Me a Story” and triggers the start of a wild adventure for the moviemakers
* "From Imagination to the page: How writers write" – the “process” of inspiration
* BD Live
* Digital Copy
* DVD version of the film

I'll blind buy Inkheart, looked like a nice fantasy film and got decent reviews. Looking forward to it.

I hope they announce season 2 of the Sarah Connor Chronicles soon. God I love that show!

For anyone like me who were about to go hell with it and buy the first Terminator film on blu-ray when they re-release it...don't

According to Van Ling, Lowry Digital is apparently restoring the film just like they did with the James Bond series, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars films, and will include new special features.

That's good to hear. :up:

Despite it being only $10 at Walmart, I've held off on it knowing it's BOUND to be released with better PQ and some actual special features. I can definitely wait for that. And the "re-release" coming up next month or whatever is identical to what's already out, except that they're adding a slipcover to the case, which I always throw away anyway. :down

Huh? Are you talking about The Terminator or Terminator 2? Because Terminator will be the same disc with only a new slipcover. With Terminator 2 they are gonna clean it up a bit and change it to VC-1 over MPEG-2. I don't think they are actually going to restore it I think its coming from the same master as before. But it includes different cuts, ton more special features, and superior audio. I will wait for reviews before I am so quick to upgrade my copy because the video quality might not even be that different.

He's talking about the first movie. It was reported before that a new transfer was being worked on. Seeing as how studios love to double dip, this still could come out when Termantor Salvation gets released on DVD/Blu.

Any word if the Blade movies are headed for Blu? I'd love to own those on the format.

The first film. Like I said, the re-release with just the slipcover that is coming out in a couple of weeks is not at all worth it to get because there will be another release in the near future with a new transfer and restored by Lowry along with new special features.

I think the first Blade is getting a Canadian release soon. Yeah just checked June 2nd in Canada. I would personally wait for the US boxset release though.

Ahhh okay NOW I get what you were saying. So your saying there is going to be a TRIPLE dip with one of them being useless just a blatant attempt to cash-in. Typical. :whatever:

Exactly. There was no way that Lowry was going to be finished with their restoration of the film nor the special features being done so MGM decided to have their double dip Terminator blu-ray just have that ugly ass cover.

An actual good version will be coming out.

For those of you who might be interested, Amazon.com now has New Line's The Lord of the Rings Trilogy available for pre-order on Blu-ray (theatrical editions only - SRP $99.98 but Amazon's price is about $70). Street date is still TBA, but we're expecting a December release. [Editor's Note: Sources close to director Peter Jackson have informed me that he's holding back the extended editions for an elaborate "ultimate" box set release closer to the debut of the new Hobbit films - that's why these are set to be theatrical only. Obviously, not everyone is going to want them as such, but they're designed to satisfy fans who want something in the meantime. So simply be aware that if you want to wait for the more elaborate release, you'll get one eventually. Just FYI.] Here's the cover art they have up...
