Definitely getting Punisher War Zone, X-Men Trilogy and the wife wants Twilight

Paste Pot Pete - I have to agree with you to a point. I find some movies pointless to buy on Blu-Ray. I will rent them from Netflix though. I basically buy the Blu-Ray of Action Adventure, Sci-Fi and some horror. but comedies will always be standard dvd for me. But to each their own. I've gotten pickier about the dvd's I buy anymore.

If you do wanna check out a demo quality comedy Blu-ray though be sure to make it Superbad. :)

really? I have Superbad on standard. I may have to rent it through netflix. I bought it before I was into the whole Blu-Ray scene. I'd like to find a disc to really show off the sounds and picture quality. Like a demo disc of some type.

Yep I highly recommend Superbad if you want a comedy that looks amazing in high definition. It makes good use of that lossless audio in some scenes too.

But some others that I have in my collection that look amazing and could be catergorized as comedy are Stranger Than Fiction, Tropic Thunder, and The Simpsons Movie. I would also have to give honorable mentions to Knocked Up, Step Brothers, and Juno.

I watched Tropic Thunder and that looked good. So did Juno. But to me those are ones, that just don't pull me into dishing out 25 to 35 bucks for. Especially, when the standard DVD's of those are fine to me. Like I said Action movies is what I mostly get with Blu-Ray. although the Pixar Movies do look amazing in HD. Still waiting for The Incredibles to come out.

Well you shouldn't be paying 25 to 35 bucks for anything. :oldrazz: I have kept my purchasing to well under $20 per movie.

bastard!!!!! :D

I guess I should look for the deals. It was nice when they all competed with the cheap dvd on the first week of release.

Yeah honestly you just have to keep your eyes open for the deals and be willing to have some patience not wanting to rush into a store right on release day because that way your gonna end up paying over $20.

You can find great deals on used movies on other sites like for example when i was posting the Blu-ray's I am selling on Blu-ray.com the other day I saw someone selling a used Blu-ray copy of Superbad for $12 shipped. So you can find amazing deals if you know where to look and have patience.

To add to that. The great thing about BR disc's,is that they are darn near impossible to damage. A majority of the BR's I own are used. There are two stores in my area that I go to. Just something to think about.

Well yeah I would say its very hard to damage a Blu-ray but I have encountered one or two with a minor scratch or scuff but it still played fine for me. So yea it is something to keep in mind as well that Blu-ray's have a much stronger protective coating compared to a DVD.

I spent $32.00 on the Disaster Movie Blu-Ray guess my player needs to be taken away.:o I will definitely never make that mistake again.:csad: I was drunk on cough syrup & didn't realize what I was doing but at least Vanessa Manillo has great legs in high definition.

You're not...serious, are you?

If Obama wasn't closing Gitmo, I'd recommend sending you there. :o

Sorry to interompt. But I am looking for a Blu ray player that as a usb port that can read usb key(reading movie,music...ect). Why? cause I hate to burn! I dont like to have a room packed of DVDs. I think Usb key is way more efficient.

Except the PS3,So far I saw blue ray player that have a usb port but only for firmware upgrade.

Id just recommend getting a PS3. Its the best BR player on the market

Nice. This set gets even better. THIS is the purchase Ive been meaning to make ever since I got a blu-ray player

I know but its not for me:csad:. it s for someone old like my father who can only open is 1080p TV by pressing on "power".

So I m doing my best to find him something realy easy to use.

Seconded. The PS3 is not only one of the top Blu-ray players but just a hell of an all around multimedia machine for that price.

Actually thats more of a reason to get a PS3. Half the players out there need need a firmware update every now and then but with the PS3 you probably just need to update it once out of the box and your good to go. I haven't had any problems playing any discs at all.

the PS3 isnt anymore difficult to use than any other BR player. He doesnt have to fumble with the XMB, internet, games, and other features. It can be set to automatically load up discs upon turning it on, so that stuff can be bypassed

Watchmen Coming to Blu-ray in March?
This is most likely a database error, but its from the studio, so we'll run it until we hear differently. Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring 'Watchmen' - yes, that 'Watchmen'; the motion picture directed by Zack Snyder - to Blu-ray on March 3rd, with no DVD release planned. See what I'm talking about? This is either the craziest release move ever to come out of Hollywood, or someone jumped the gun over at the Warner's press office.

There are no special features announced for the title, nor technical specs. We've contacted the Warner to comment on this, but being that its just after 5am in Hollywood, we don't expect an answer back for some time.

Again, take this with a huge grain of salt...

Watchmen Motion Comic Released in March
Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring 'Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic' to Blu-ray on March 3rd, day-and-date with the DVD release. The disc features all 12 chapters of the 'Watchmen' saga as a "motion comic" spanning over five hours in length. Video will be presented in 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

The Rock Gets a Blu-ray Set
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'The Rock Collection' to Blu-ray on February 10th. This three-disc set will feature the Blu-ray releases of 'The Rundown', 'Doom', and 'The Scorpion King', which all feature 1080p video accompanied by 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks.

'The Scorpion King' was previously released on Blu-ray, but the set will be released day-and-date with the individual Blu-ray releases of 'Doom' and 'The Rundown' (internationally known as 'Welcome to the Jungle'). Special features for each of the titles in the set will match those of the individual releases.

Agreed, unless you have a WRT54G router :)

In which case, you'll have lots and lots of media server and networking issues.

I finally gave up and use my 360 to stream stuff because of it.

Great machine otherwise!
