The future of Quinten Tarantino

Am I the only one that is dissapointed in QT's recent choice of films? I like the fact their is a director out there who makes niche geek movies but I wish he would "grow up" and start making mature films. Although I find PF more enjoyable I think his best film is TR. I know he didnt direct it but he wrote it and his style is very evident throughout the film. I think he got scared after the dissapointing JB(which I loved) and he started making "critic proof" films. Kill Bill and Grindhouse were nice diversions, but I dont see myself watching those in five years like his earlier works. Think about the beating scene in TR, or the undercover cops confession in RD will QT ever reach that kind of emotional impact again?

I personally think Kill Bill, as a whole movie is his best so I am cool with how he rolls, death proof probably his worst though

Completely agree. QT of the 90s was a great filmmaker. IMO, he's now quite bland. I really wish he'd go back to doing the gangster flicks instead of action and kong-fu.

Taratino generally names a list of projects over the course of about a month and usually finishes one within a year max. If even that.

I love the man's work, but he needs to focus on one film at a time and get it done.

Agree. Tarantino always talks about all of these films that he doesn't do lol. Back in March QT said he was gonna start on the IB script, I hope he really does start on the film soon. The premise sounds like it could be a great WWII film, something that could finally bring QT back to being hailed as a good filmmaker.


Don't hate on Rob Rod, the guy does his job. He's not the best, but he gives it his all and usually makes entertaining movies, even though they're fluff.

QT needs to get rolling with Inglorious Bastards, though I don't think that would be the final title. Do you honestly think the MPAA would let him use that title?

The only problem with Rob Rod is that he abandoned Sin City 2 for his Barbarella remake.

I think Rodriguez is a fantastic director. It's his writing that bugs me. If he has a good script, usually from someone else, he can knock one out of the park.

Hopefully QT and RR will rub off on each other. IMO RR's stuff is lightweight, but he has a good work ethic. QT's film's are good, but he has a horrible work ethic. I think Inglorious Bastards could really take him to a higher level. And I pray that he gives us a "real" film before making any more kung fu horror flicks.
