Kurt Russell, Horror Western, I'm in. (Where's John Carpenter when you need him though:woot::cwink:)

I like Terence Hill a lot too:up:. And also Bud Spencer, of course:woot:

My all-time favorite Terence Hill film is a little cult classic called Super Fuzz, it's not a western film, it's a comedy cop film, & it's just all kinds of awesome, it also stars Ernest Borgnine.

Love that film:up: (When I saw it in France as a kid it was called "Two Super Cops":woot:)

I love these actors and this film. I really dig Westerns about the end of an era like Ride the High Country, Lonely Are the Brave and Unforgiven of course.

One of my all time favorites. A western movie AND a martial arts movie all in one. How can you beat that?

It doesn't beat it, but you should like BLOOD MONEY (1974) (AKA; THE STRANGER AND THE GUNFIGHTER) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071784/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_18 starring Lee Van Cleef and Lo Lieh. This can be found on bargain bin multiple western DVD sets.

And another one to look for is SHANGHAI JOE (1973) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068954/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 starring Chin Lee and Klaus Kinski.

RED SUN is a damn fun movie....I haven't been able to find an official DVD release for it, but I have transferred an old VHS tape to DVD. There is a fan edit of the movie that can be found on the internet (I have seen scenes from it, but haven't been able to see the whole thing) where the editor was able to change the music to parts of Ennio Morricone scores from his other films.

Have you seen Django, Prepare a Coffin?

I liked it. Terence Hill is Django and does quite a good job in my opinion, it's definitely the one that's closest to the original out of the umpteen Django films. Plus you get two awesome pieces of music in it too.

Red Sun is available on You Tube, in its entirety, for those of you who are interested.

I will look for Shanghai Joe and Blood Money which I didn't know about:up:
I also remember loving the TV Show Kung Fu when I was a kid, retrospectively I wish Bruce Lee had been cast instead of Carradine but he still was good. I wonder why it was never adapted into a movie?

I love the David Carradine TV series KUNG FU (watched the entire series again last year)....to me, the first 2 seasons are the best (producer/director/writer Jerry Thorpe spent more time on new series HARRY O during 3rd season, and it shows). There was a TV movie made 11 years after the series was cancelled - KUNG FU THE MOVIE http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091361/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 starring Carradine, Mako, William Lucking, Keye Luke, Martin Landau, and most importantly......Brandon Lee. So while we didn't get to see Bruce in the series, we do get his son. I don't know of any official DVD release of the movie, but I burned my own copy from a VHS tape release. A bit of trivia about the movie....actor/stuntman Roy Jensen has a part in it. He was in the original pilot episode as the bully in the bar at the beginning when Caine comes out of the desert wanting water and is in this as a bully warehouse foreman (could be the same guy for all we know)...so he, Carradine, and Luke are the only 3 actors to appear in the first and technically last episode of the series.

Great Trivia, thanks for sharing, C. Lee:up:
I was also a big fan of Wild Wild West, loved the chemistry between Conrad and Martin, and the fact that Conrad was doing his own fights and stunts (also the gadgets were great too), and Dr Miguelito Loveless (Michael Dunn) was an awesome villain , needless to say I was very disappointed by the film version which had nothing to do with the series. James Bond in the Far West, how could they mess that up lol?

I remember when the Will Smith movie was being made, there was reports that Robert Conrad was mad as hell about the movie. He had been offered a cameo and turned it down calling it a piece of crap. A lot of people speculated at the time that he was just mad that they hadn't offered the lead to him....then the movie was released, and people saw he was right.

Has anyone seen Valdez is Coming starring Burt Lancaster?

I saw a trailer for it on YouTube and it looked a little Grindhouse-ish, which I dig. Kind of reminded me of Robert Rodriguez's first Machete trailer.

Yeah....Valdez is a great - You picked the wrong guy to F with movie. It's from a novel by Elmore Leonard.

Lol:woot: They should reboot that film, Dinklage would make a great Loveless.

Burt Lancaster is a great underrated actor, who has made a lot of awesome Westerns.

Has anyone here seen Slow West yet? And if so, how is it? Also, since the subject of "horror Westerns" came up earlier, I'd recommend The Burrowers. It's a fun little flick.

Slow West is good and a lot of fun. A great debut for a first time director with a lot of talent. Fassbender is the ****ing man, he is such a badass. But I kept waiting for more. Granted, I saw this around 3 am in the morning but the plot is simple and the cinematography is gorgeous, but it felt like it needed more. I still can't say exactly what that was. I need to see it again. 7/10

Another excellent western. A very good retelling of The Seven Samurai. Although my personal favorite version of that story is Battle Beyond The Stars.

SABATA

Many lesser spaghetti westerns are really silly, but the dubbing for this is hilariously amazing. Ha.

Lee Van Cleef just had this face that screamed Westerns! I love this man and even prefer him as an actor to Clint himself. The story is simple, but see it for Mr. Cleef.

In his prime, LVC could stare down Charles Dance, Peter Capaldi and Samuel L. Jackson simultaneously.

Speaking of movies starring Lee Van Cleef with laughably bad dubbing, I remember watching a western starring Mr Van Cleef when I was a kid. I think it was called "Kid Vengeance" or something like that. It was about a family of pacifists who were set upon by a band of outlaws, led by LVC. The youngest of the family, a little boy of about 12 years of age, was out hunting. When he returned he witnessed LVC rape his mother then murder both his parents and kidnap his teenage sister (who was hiding in the back of their covered wagon). The boy then sets out to rescue his sister and avenge his parents' death.

One of the things I remember most about the movie was that there was a delay of at least a couple of seconds between the actions in the film (dialogue, gun fights, fist fights, etc) and the sound. So you would see someone fire their revolver, then two or three seconds later you'd hear the gunshot. It was freaking hilarious.
