Seriously, who could forget these classic films after they've seen them? A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. These masterpieces ooze with Sergio Leone's memorable style. The cinematography is nothing short of brilliant, with beautiful widescreen compositions (seriously, have you ever tried to watch any of them in fullscreen? You can't, the pan and scan just kills it!). Clint Eastwood absolutely shines with presence as "The Man with No Name" in these films, despite having barely ANY dialogue.

And who can forget the theme to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly? It's practically used in every Western spoof to this very day! Honestly, if you haven't seen them, and you are an appreciator of film-making, you will surely enjoy these films.

I love The Dollars trilogy, especially For A Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly. Lee Van Cleef is such a badass.

I enjoy all three, even though A Fistful of Dollars is essentially Yojimbo set in the West

Why aren't there special editions of AFFoD and FaFDM???

good the bad and ugly is hands down one of the greatest films of all time. the other two films are quite amazing as well. eastwood is the definition of bad ass.

This series gets overlooked when discussing excellent franchises.

This trilogy gets better with every film. A Fistful of Dollars is awesome already. Cool as ****. Especially Clint Eastwood with the steel plate in his poncho.
The second film For A Few Dollars More is even better. Mainly because of the adding of Lee van Cleef. He and Eastwood make a great duo. I love the final scene in that one.
The Good, The Bad an the Ugly is bigger, longer and better. It's easily one of the best movies ever made. I love the acting, music, direction, pace and scale of it all.

If looks could kill...

Ohhh I love these movies. I HATE it though that they threw in those dumb extra scenes into the SE of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I want to kill the person responsible for it because I read that he threw them in there for the hell of it. I hope they don't do that to the SEs of the previous two.

I like Once Upon Time in the West more myself... :(

YES! there SHOULD be a thread for Dollar appreciation!!!

For A Few Dollars More is my personal favorite. I believe it has the best story and acting of the three! And the "villain theme" from that is UNFORGETTABLE.

whats wrong with the additional scenes? i thought they were awesome in G,B,U. the whole thing with the bridge was rad.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Its the original cut of the movie. When the film premiered in Rome in December 1966 thats how the film was. And, there's not wrong with the extra scenes. The only two scenes I hate is Tuco calling his henchmen and then the one where he asks for directions for the chuch. All the others are awesome!

The Dollar movies are good, if a bit overrated (the first two that is) but enjoyable stylish westerns....BUT

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is perhaps one of the greatest movies ever made and certainly among the top 10 westerns ever made. An amazing epic that we would benefit from seeing more of today.

MAYBE I'll agree that Fistful is overrated since its basically a remake of Yojimbo. But, For a Few Dollars More IS NOT overrated!

Something we can agree about.

I've got the Trilogy in a DVD box set. It's pretty friggin' sweat-looking! A great display for any fan's collection. Who else has it?

But it lOOks cOOl!

there are deleted scenes for TGTB&TU...how many times do you really watch the extras vs. how many times to you walk by and notice the shiny brown/yellow box?!

The cover art is awesome, but no extras, man. Besides I have the GBU SE DVD which has a cool cover and good extras.

Well, two differences. First, they were deleted eventually. Secondly, they weren't overdubbed by obviously much older men.

And the part where you hear Tuco's voiceover AS YOU SEE TUCO run into the cave was NOT part of the premiere. That was a dumb move to incorporate deleted audio from another scene into that deleted scene. The end result was a very weird, pointless scene that was too different from the rest of the movie. I didn't even get that scene.

They were unnecessary, which is why scenes are deleted.

Eastwood owns the Action hero Squint. Bruce Willis, Steven Segal, Kurt Russle ain't got nothing on old clint.

I don't double dip, so I'm content with the copies with no extras

Are we 100% sure about that? Leone films are notorious for having two cuts. For example, till recently the version of Once Upon a Time in the West we had in the United States was not the one being shown in Europe. The version shown in Europe was the one we got on DVD. And, lets not even get started on Once Upon a Time in America. It is no secret that the American distributors ruined the movie. The version we got on DVD was the one always being shown in Europe.
