The greatest muppet movie of all time!!!

My favorite song had to be the man or a muppet song with the special cameo appearance of human walter.

I had no idea about that cameo until I saw the movie, it got one of the biggest laughs at my show.

I love the finale. Perfectly summed up what I thought of the whole movie. :woot:

I know I didn't know he was in there either. But I do know a bunch of cameos got cut from film that was shot. To cut runtime down. I hope we get a directors cut.

The film will end the week at $42 million, but only good for second place this week as they lost by $20 million to a film watched by every teen girl in the world.

I dare say it will have far better legs than Twilight, that film plummeted nearly 77% in it's second week.

Plus, this film is only three million away from its entire budget.

And regardless of Twilight, The Muppets still had an excellent opening. With no other big family movies coming out until Alvin and the Chipmunks later next month, it should hold up well.

I'm definitely seeing it again.

I wonder if the success of The Muppets will be in the thoughts of Warner Brothers? I ask this because maybe Warner is thinking that they could easily revive the Looney Tunes franchise under similar circumstances to the Muppets.

WB are kinda doing that already with those new animated shorts they've been doing the last year or so.

The wheels have been set in motion for the past few years with the new TV show, the various shorts, and the various films in development.

I'd see it again  Although not during a matinee , some little kid (3 or 4) walked up to me and said "where's my mommy?". She came running down the aisle , lots of loud little kids but it didn't take away too much.
My audience actually clapped during some parts of the telethon, lol.

This was really good , I loved all the references and enjoyed the dance numbers more than expected.

I bought the album at Amazon for $4.99. "Life's a Happy Song" and "Man or Muppet" will most likely get Oscar nominations. If they don't, I will be extremely surprised.

Man or Muppet was really funny . The 'secret cameo' didn't really do much for me because I don't watch that person's show. That actor did seem to fit though. Some good cameos but i think they could do better in that aspect. I'm hoping for a sequel or they could bring back the show , either would be good.

I think "Pictures in my Head" deserves a nod too. Hopefully all three can score nominations. I don't think the "Best Original Song" category will be too crowded this year.

If three songs get nominated, they are at risk of canceling each other other. That's what happened to "Enchanted" in 2007. As far as competition is concerned, I think the biggest rival right now is "Gnomeo and Juliet." If I'm not mistaken, "Hello Hello" and "Love Builds a Garden" are original songs by Elton John.

even though it didnt take number 1 for weekend its still the number 1 family movie of the weekend.

It'll probably be #1 next weekend. There's no new film being released and Twilight is already losing steam.

The Muppets can also benefit from strong word-of-mouth. Those teen girls and their moms who watched Twilight this past weekend may check out the Muppets this weekend.

And at the very least, hopefully this means we'll finally get the last two seasons of The Muppet Show on DVD. They only released the first three.

That's another thing - if the success of this movie leads to big sales on the DVDs on the older Muppet stuff, Disney will finally figure out that they keep the Muppets around for awhile.

I also wonder how New Regency and Fox will handle Fraggle Rock, considering the success of The Muppets for Disney. Hopefully they'll get someone who loves the source material like Jason Segel did for the Muppets and approach it that way.

I loved Fraggle Rock when I was a kid. I'd love to see that revived somehow as well.

This Muppet Show clip has been cracking me up all day:

:lmao:

Which Muppet movie is when they all go on a road trip and they are trying to run away from someone and they pull up to a billboard and their clothes and car blend perfectly in?

I need to re-watch it but I remember that one being the best.

I need to re-watch all the Muppet movies as well. Or atleast the good ones. I did watch "Muppet Christmas Carol" like a year or two ago. I loved it as a kid, but it doesn't really hold up.
