The Green Hornet

The film does look like fun and the banter between Rogen and Chou looks to be a winning strength. The only thing that's off putting unfortunately is Rogen, who I love by the way. He seems out of place and that may be due to the trailer only showing him doing comical things. Rogen can play the serious guy very well and I'm hoping he does more than joke around for the whole flick.

In my view, most people, including Rogen & Co. DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE GREEN HORNET IS ABOUT. What Seth Rogen and company have done is radically change the character of the Green Hornet/Britt Reid. They haven't just made minor changes to update the series to our time, they have made radical and offensive changes to the very essence of the character for cheap laughs! They have turned Britt Reid/ The Green Hornet into a bumbling, Boozing slacker with no skills that just turns to crime fighting on a lark, and teamed him Kato, who is presented as the real hero with all of the skills that just barely tolerates having his clumsy partner hanging around getting in the way! You can only make so many changes and still keep faithful to the original character.

I have a feeling that, based on Rogen's comments listed above, this movie will turn out a lot like "Without a Clue."You may not be familiar with that film. It was a slapstick comedy about Sherlock Holmes (Michael Caine) who, contrary to popular belief, is a bumbling idiot. Dr. Watson actually solves all of the crimes and constantly saves the day, and Holmes takes all the credit. As a Sherlock Holmes fan, I didn't like that film. So I can only imagine that a Green Hornet film that plays the same way will not win over and GH fans.
That's a funny movie, but I don't necessarily see that with TGH.

If you didn't like that movie, then you must have also HATED "The Seven Percent Solution" where its revealed that Holmes solved all his cases while on drugs.

I'm liking the second trailer, more focus on Kato, Waltz and the action. I dig Rogen in it also.

It showed more action this time and I do believe we will at least get a decent fun movie. Christoph Waltz and Michel Gondry's vision on the action scenes is what I'm looking forward to the most in the movie.

Really digging the action sequences from the new trailer :up:

The new trailer is great. The film is finally taking shape.

Rogen gassing Kato at the end was hilarious.

Looks pretty cool to me. The action scenes look innovative, and Kato kicking Seth out the window was hilarious.

yeah i don't think it looks bad by any stretch of the imagination. just a different take on the character.

I think ultimately this will be a comedy with action in it. Hopefully Gondry's direction will prove to be an inspired choice.

I think it's more of a buddy action movie with comedy in the vein of Lethal Weapon, Rush Hour, 48 Hrs. ect...

He is on his way to being the Alan Rickman of the 21st century, typecast as the villain. Work is work, I guess.

Great now we don't need Rickman to play 3/4 of the german bad guys in movies.

The Green Hornet movie still looks interesting.
It has been interesting since its conception. Everyone was too blinded by Rogenhate to admit it. Some also took the departure of Stephen Chow as director and star as a bad sign, when directors and actors leave movies all the time.

I wasn't too impressed with the first trailer, but the second one has my interest back up. Glad to see the Green Hornet in live action format again. I was expecting more serious in tone, but the comedy in the trailer works. Looking forward to seeing it this January. Plan on catching up on all the trades, that are coming out with Hornet and Kato as well.

Interesting how Kato takes center stage in that poster.

Yeah,
I hate that.
They should just go ahead and call the movie "Kato"
People have always liked Kato more.
He was the reason most watched the show.
But I wish they would have taken this chance to make the green hornet more of a badass.
Have his own style of fighting.
But instead they just made him an idiot that follows Kato around.

Three TV spots.
