Exactly, horror movies need rules. They need a plot and story to follow. If a curse can kill anyone, anytime, anywhere then there is no ability to a) do any meaningful character development, i.e. make us "care" about potential victims and b) the monster ceases to be scary, fear comes from unknown. If there is no chance you can destroy it before it destroys you then what's the point.terry78 said:Saw the first one, heard a mini review from a friend about this one. The whole series is basically anti-climactic to me, as they're never going to stop it, much less determine how the curse works. And apparantly the ghosts can be anywhere at anytime, do anything, turn water into wine, etc. That's been my only complaint, there's no limitations on their powers, which kind of makes it a "just sit around and wait for everyone to get killed" type of thing. But that's how most Japanese horror is, so whatever.

I saw this movie last night and im still pretty pissed. This movie was a bunch of creep out/jump scenes thinly put together. What really got me is that this movie jumped back and forth thru time with no rhyme or reason. Somehow setting fire to the foyer(since the rest of the house seemed intact) was just what the Grudge chick needed to get out and start killing or snatching people whilly nilly. Then there are the inconsistancies. Little boy runs at the site of dead people but merely stands there and watch as a young girl is sucked into her hooded sweat shirt and even picks it up to figure out where she went.
Doubt it would matter considering their asses can pop up wherever they wanna be. He ran for the door, she would've just grabbed him or appeared in front of him.JoLiE_MeNdEz said:the one part that i thought was the stupidest( yet the most hilarious was when the asian guy developing the pics looks down and the dead girl is staring at him in the red room for like 5 minutes. i mean wouldn't you f'ing run?? i was like man that guy deserves it for being so stupid

Sloth7d said:I never got that either. Why does it only attack when you're alone?
Also, how come no one tried to attack back? Most of the victoms kinda just stood there waiting to die. Sarah Michelle is the only one who even attempted doing something(in part 1 atleast)

What I don't get isAlso what Roach said is true too. I didn't get that. Why didn't the boy run?if her guidance conselor told her shes been in the house before(and I mean she said she was in the house a long time ago) with a smile on her face, shouldn't she know somethings up. You don't go in that house and come out telling people you were in there while smiling.
Well, I don't think anyone else could see her... er I think.... not sure though... But its obvious shes been a ghost from the start. And yes, this movie was hilarious. The whole movie theatre was drowning in laughter the whole time. One guy in the back row yelled "run!" during the part where the boy looked in that one girls apartment. It was hilarious.Warhammer said:I didn't get the fact that other people could become ghosts and that the counselor could turn on/off her "ghostly form". Btw, that scene was a "WTF?" and a hilarious scene when the counselor started screaming (or whatever she was doing).
I will see Grudge 3 just to put that mess (Grudge 2) into conclusion.
Sloth7d said:One question though.Did the ghost posses the step mother during that part where she killed the husband? Because if so, it hasn't killed anyone through that method until now.
