The Halo 3 Discussion Thread!

I think one of the big reasons people don't like Halo 2 is because the story was so good that they were expecting to see a great climax until their emotions got played with with a cliff hanger ending. Me, I loved the ending. Made me feel more anticipation for the awesome conclusion.

Who said it would be out by March anyways? I'm willing to bet sometime in November or Christmas. The most profitable time frames with the most time to get things complete with the game.

Found something interesting. If you've picked up the Halo 2 volume 2 soundtrack, look at one of the last songs (the song that's played when the Master Chief arrives back to Earth at the end of the game). It's titled "Thermopylae Soon."

It will be most definitely be MGS4 vs Halo 3 come Fall 2007, just as it was MGS2 vs Halo in 2001 and MGS3 vs Halo 2 in 2004.

The Ark may be a reference to Noah's Ark. In the Bible, The Ark was built by Noah according to plans given by God and created to save Man and all the animals of the earth from "heavenly judgement," in the form of the great flood. The Ark could then be seen as perhaps a bastion from the alien parasite The Flood and the destructive power of the Halo weapons, a place where the Forerunners perhaps placed those chosen to propagate the species or even genetic samples. Then, once the Halos' were fired and all sentient life was theoretically destroyed, the Ark could then release its contents onto the world. This could explain the origin of human life and the humans' status as "Reclaimers," if one accepts the theory of humans as Forerunner descendants.

Yes, the likelihood of Halo 3 making it's "tentative release date" is just as good as it was in the case of Halo 2.

I'll believe it when Bungie announces the date themselves.

they shouldn't have humanized the covenant. i liked them better when I didn't know anything about them, and they were just this ominous alien religious force. i don't need a stupid subplot involving an alien insurrection with stupid looking creatures. looked like goddamn muppet show. and what's up with that giant talking plant? if the covenant hate humankind so much, why do they speak english? and they have too many human emotions and mannerisms, totally makes them mundane.

The Covenant was humanized? Where? To me they looked like religious zealots wanting control over the infidels. Which to me seemed like a sci-fi take on ancient Catholic society or current extremist Islam. Faith, lies, and deceit seem to be universal.

Microsoft will want to get Halo 3 on store shelves as soon as possible. It's the Xbox platform's flagship title and it will help them get the much-needed jump on Sony and Nintendo. I believe Halo 3 will release as soon as it's gold.

yeah, Halo is Xbox's flagship, which means if halo3 is the last one, Xbox needs a new flagship in the next year or so. anyways, I was wondering why they don't just release it next summer, since that's when the movie is suppose to come out. I hope single player is a little longer. Speaking of the halo movie, is the movie suppose to be all three games in one movie or is there going to be a movie trillogy?

The Halo movie is based off of the first Halo game with some of the book "The Fall of Reach" told in flash back (even though they changed some of the events). Hopefully we'll get the movie and Halo 3 in the same year or close together.

Thats whats was supposed to happen, but no developmnent have happened on Halo: The MOvie it could come out next year wirth the game if they start production in a few months like August or something. Halo: The movei needs a huge production

I hope Bungie puts those "melee-combos" we saw during the E3 2002 New Moombasa level presentation in Halo 3. And all those extra vehicles like the ATV and many different kinds of Warthogs that were originally planned for Halo 2 but were eventually scrapped. There was also supposed to be a level on a "moon" complete with less gravity and all, that got shafted. Hope they throw that back in as well.

Okay I have read the Cortonna letters like Phaser told me to do and I've watched the beyond the trailer video on IGN and I must say Halo does seem to have a pretty impressive story so far.

SPOILERS

I love how the ark is a time travel device that the Covenant uses to go back in time to reset the galaxy as we know it so when that new species comes again they know now to take it out with extreme force and not let them hang around and evolve farther than the covenant. However do you think Humans are that race or do you think they will introduce a new race of aliens in Halo 3.

I also like how Cortonna is going to be bad in the third game I think that is amazing and how she hates Master Chief and says he brought nothing into this world and she is sure making sure that he brings nothing out. I also like how she bashes him and is saying how he is cheaply made by the humans.

I also read somewhere that they are planning on having angels in Halo 3? How does that fit in because I know its a religious game but...I don't see a connection.

BTW, look at the volume two soundtrack again. There's a track listed as "Road to Voi." This is Voi, Kenya. It sits on the equater. Will there possibly be a Halo burried under the earth's crust?
