The Hangover

i saw this saturday, and it is, with no doubt or exaggeration, the funniest movie i've ever seen.

i laughed from start to finish, then for hours afterwards... the only complaint (if it can be called that) i have is that the comedy isn't very quotable, and that may even be a good thing. but with most comedies my friends and i can spout lines off afterwards, not so much with this one. we're still quoting land of the lost, and to good effect, for example.

It had a 5.5M second Monday. That's incredible! 200 million IS gonna happen at this point. Hell, it could get close to 300M if it keeps doing better than Wedding Crashers. If it follows(not beats as it has been doing but just matches) Wedding Crashers then it's gonna make $287M DOM. 300M is not out of play yet. Unlikely, but not out of play.

i guess im one of the few people that didnt like this movie? it just seemed so hyped up to me going into it and i found i only chuckled a few times.

i guess youd think that but i laugh at the most random stuff and i love comedys. i just think they were over hyping it saying from the guys that brought you old school. old school was pure gold and i laugh every time i watch that movie but this movie just didnt do it.

I guess I lucked out. I never saw Old School and I never paid attention to the marketing for this movie, so I went in cold and just wanting a good ole' R-rated comedy.

kendrell do yourself a favor and rent old school, hell buy it its gotta only be 5 bucks at best buy by now. it really is a funny movie.

I've been mulling it over since seeing TH(which I loved). It's just that at the time OS came out it's trailers didn't show me anything that interested me. And with only a few exceptions(Elf, Anchorman), I don't like Will Ferrel.

i got ya. to each his own. i just loved the connection ferrel, vaughn, and olsen had in old school. it really worked especially with the minor characters.

I'm just glad none of the Apatow regulars were leads in this. I like them, but it kinda would've ruined it.

Would Ken Jeong be considered an Apatow regular? But yeah, he wasn't a lead, so I guess that wouldn't count anyway.

I think Jeong would be considered a regular. He's been in 4 movies, even though those are minor roles.

I guess you could say he is somewhat of an apatow regular. But what I was meaning is, like, Seth Rogen. Like, honestly, its almost to the point where Seth Rogen isnt really even funny because he's sooo over-used.

Yeah same, it kinda sucks reading reviews on this movie where they compare and review the leads in this movie to Apatow regulars. Like, "Cooper an unfunny *insert Apatow regular*" It's like, really? I mean Apatow is amazing and so are his regulars but this was very refreshing. And he's not the onlyone that can make good R rated comedies

I fully agree. Personally, I thought Cooper was pretty damn funny in The Hangover.

Cooper was funny. In fact they all were. This film and the circumstances and the reactions felt more genuine and realsitic than the aptow crew's stuff imo.

I am planning on this it this weekend. It is already "certified fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes. I heard the same as the posters above....not the BEST movie, but funny! That is good enough for me! :)

I can see Ken Jeong becoming an "internet" household name after this movie..

People have seen him in comedies for years, but this is definitely his most memorable performance yet..

This movie deserves the success but I won't watch the sequel, comedy sequels suck ass 9/10. Not everything could be Christmas Vacation.

As long as people don't start suggesting him for the Mandarin in IM3 then it's all good.:cwink:

I rented it for a dollar from my library(unrated version). It's on my stack of stuff to watch.
