The Healthy Hypesters Challenge

updated.

thus far we have 12 people who are trying to be healthier in some way or form this year. i'm sure we can all get there

Oh yeah, I forgot to add: cut down on the caffeine and chocolate :csad:

My goal this year is to cut down on the fast food and either cook more or at the very least buy more groceries. While I look fine and I'm in the proper weight range for my height (I'm 175-180 and 6"2), I could definately eat better. I eat fast food several times a week, and that is just not good.

I plan on biking to and from school each day (four miles both ways), and with the weight of the books on my back it should be good exercise. I'm hoping to get healthier, 'cause I am one out of shape ferret.

This thread smells like sweat... sweat smells very much like binary.

I plan to have lots of sexercise this year to tone myself. Everyone should approve of this plan... those who don't, be quiet and comply.

I'll be making regular routine checks in this thread to make sure you ladies are sticking with your goals.

I just started a really hard workout program so I'm hoping to loose 10 lbs this year!

I would like to lose 6 kilos before the summer. I am about 76 right now and would be better at 70. I have started a diet where I eat light, I walk to work and home, and go skiing every weekend. It is not easy because I do get invited to dinners and lunches where wine is served and often involve two to three dishes, but I will persevere.

I'll chip in for losing 30 pounds. *shrug*
:)
Edit: And also trying to get back on to some semblance of a regular sleep schedule.

I want to become healthy enough to be able to pass a strenous physical evaluation.

im glad you started this thread, ive been thinking about doing something like this for awhile. I'm not sure how many pounds i want to lose by the end of the year, but i do want to get down to about 200lbs which is where i was a year-ish ago. i wasw 250 at the beginning of the year, and ive been trying to run a mile just about every day and eat healthy, and it's been going fairly well so far. took about a week off for sickness and dumb snow, but ive lost about 12lbs or so, so far.

12 lbs is great so far. i think we can have a great support system in play on the hype if we stay on our goals and work hard and encourage each other.

i've add you all to the main page

Okay so I quit smoking about three hours ago. I think this is going to be a lot harder than I thought.

My goal this year is to run a marathon, signed up for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, May 3rd. After my long run tomorrow morning will have 6 weeks of training down, 11 more to go and logged into the triple digits of miles run so far this year.

I've been using www.livestrong.com. They have a Calorie tracker on there, and if you have an iphone, you can get an app to take with out.

I've lost 10 pounds in exactly 4 weeks. It's great to be able to track everything from weight, calories, fat, excerise, everthing. All you do is set up a profile and stick to it.

Hey, I'm working on one week and 3 days. You'll get there. If I can do it, so can you.

Since New Years I've lost 12 lbs and am now at a slender 157 lbs.

I stopped drinking, eatting fatty foods and watching my calorie intake. It's tough but it's working.

What are you using for your Calorie Tracking?

to be honest I just check the labels on the foods and use the appropriate measure.. like when I was eating raisin bran.. I'd be eatting a whole bowl with regular milk.. not realizing all together it'd be somwhere around 500-600 calories each. Now I use the appropriate measure of half a cup and a small amount of regular milk and consume maybe 300 calories per serving.

Eatting lots of salad.. water and low calorie snacks. Using a combo of everything has worked out for me the past month or so.

I used to use Fitday, and I very much admit to getting tired of tracking everything. However, as of today, I'm starting that back up  It definitely helps keep track of exactly what goes into your body and whether you're eating enough or too much.

I've never been a Breakfast eater, usually I only have Black Coffee, 2 sugars. That's 60 Cals. For luch, I have 2 Cups of Spinach, 14 Cals, a diced up slice of Tomato, 4 Cals, and 2 tbsps of Light Ranch, 80 cals. So, just about 100 Cals for Lunch. Dinner is often Chicken Breast and Rice.

I usually only eat about 1000 Cals a day, on weekends I splurge a little with beers and eating out, but I never have been over 200 Cals over my daily goal.

What I like about LiveStrong is you create a Profile and can have friends just like MySpace. You can save meals, and tracking is very easy.

i signed up at livestrong... pretty cool stuff.. Thanks SuBe
