I still need to see a lot of his movies, AoP13, EFNY, Vampires, etc.

I remember seeing JC on TCM and he said that he would really love a shot at making a Dracula movie. I badly want to see him make that movie. He's one of the only people that will get Dracula back to being a bad ass character and away from all of the lovey dovey wishy washy crap.

I'm really hoping Frankensteins Army is as awesome as the trailer.

My personal fave of his that doesn't get enough love is Prince of Darkness

I have the Bluray preordered on Amazon. It's one of his films that I need to give a second chance. I first watched it years ago and I remember it being a little boring.

Prince of Darkness had me cowering under my sheets when I first caught it as a kid. Viewing as an adult, it isn't as scary as before. I put this down to the dated practical effects. Although the imagery of the Dark God and final future dream scene still give me the chill.s

You know what really irritates me? Nobody is really making a solid effort to make the next great, classic icon of Horror. Insidious tried it, Sinister sure as hell tried it, and Saw tried it (and failed, in my opinion). Hatchet tried it, but it had no real mainstream impact, and it was all based in comedy and can't be taken seriously.

Freddy Kruger
Michael Myers
Jason Voorhees
Leatherface
Pinhead
Chucky

Like, nobody wants to take this list and really challenge it.

I don't see how SAW failed, Jigsaw at the same level as the guys mentioned there.

Love the series or hate it, it/he is very iconic.

I don't particularly like the SAW movies myself, however I've got to agree with you. The ventriloquist dummy Jigsaw uses to communicate with his victims is now just as iconic as Chucky or Ghostface. Maybe not quite as iconic as Freddy, Jason, or Michael Myers, but come on. Do you really expect ANYONE to top that unholy trio?

Yeah, Jigsaw is pretty iconic, he's made it to the Universal Halloween Horror Nights so he's popular. I like the franchise too so that's a plus for me.

I wonder why they never released a 1-7 movie box set on Blu-Ray. Apparently the UK got one, but we didn't.

Shame it ain't region free. Probably be cheaper even if they sold it here in the States. Even though they brought over that Freddy set, I'll probably still be importing it like I did the Basket Case trilogy.

Well Saw's 10th Anniversary is next year so maybe we'll get something then.

If it does, I'll be skipping it. As I mentioned earlier I'm not a huge fan of the series. I wouldn't mind having #1 or even #2 in my collection. But I certainly wouldn't spend money on all 7!

I did like Saw 1, and I've owned 2 since it came out but I've never seen it. And I've never gone out of the way to see the others. No real interest in them. I don't even know how I got the first 2 on dvd.

Did anyone else see some suspense and horror (horror of the situation) in This Is the End? Got pretty dark at at some points, like when the group started turning on each other. It was a surprisingly dark stoner comedy.

No, Jigsaw is not at the same level as those other characters. Jigsaw is as lame as Ghostface from the Scream movies. It's a sad time for horror fans when those two are celebrated as horror icons.

My question would be.... What's it take to become a horror icon in you honest option?

I'd hate to say thinking the movies are bad isn't a good enough reason.

I've always hated leatherface. I don't like the TCM franchise, but for me to sit here and say leatherface isn't a horror icon I'm crazy..

I don't like many of the universal horror icons from the 50s but I understand without them we don't even have horror movies.

I hate all these ghost movies and all the Blum produced ****. But it's horror and it's keeping horror movies in the theater. Times come and go the ghost stuff will be gone and ppl will forget about the saw movies hell most ppl already have.

Jigsaw is a horror icon. I don't like saying ghost face is as no one person is ghost face it's just a mask.

And why feel sorry that ppl think they are horror icons? Because you don't? Or because you want the youth of the world only liking your icons. An icon is a personal belief.

Ghostface is a parody. Or was at least. The entire point of Scream was to make fun of the tropes of the genre. Now it's somewhat inverted itself into becoming a part of it.

I personally loved all of the Saw movies. Some of the best, intricate writing in horror movies in a long time. I still don't understand the hate it gets.

I kind of view Freddy, Michael, and Jason as the Superman/Batman/Spider-Man of the Horror genre. Jigsaw and Ghostface are like... Plastic Man and Hawkeye.

The first Saw film is an amazing horror film. It's one of my favorites. The series should have stopped right there, however. Seemed to me that everything that followed was more about how the people died and less about why.

So....pretty much like every horror franchise....except written better.
