I might be the only one, but I'd love to get a new 'Halloween' film/reboot that's actually scary and worthy if using the Michael Myers character. It's time to get something moving in terms of that franchise.

I feel we haven't had a good Halloween film since H20. I didn't care for Rob Zombie's films.

Here's the Halloween pitch animatic if anyone is curious. Personally, I think it's better than zombies Halloween films.

Is The Keep on Netflix?

No. It used to be on instant cue, but was taken down awhile back. You can't even get it mailed in. I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Mann paid them to not carry the film anymore.:woot:

You can find the movie on Youtube though.

Saw this the other day.

I loved it and would totally be up for a whole animated Halloween movie, honestly. In this style, just more finished.

Well, that was ****ing awesome.

How do you guys feel about Lucio Fulci's The Beyond?
I don't really know what to say about those Italian horror movies. They have some great ideas and gore but the movies themselves are only good in parts. City of the Living Dead is my favorite by him.

I like Zombi and Black Sunday though.

I do like euro horror. IMO the best horror being made right now is outside the US. Movies like 28 Days Later, REC and Martyrs are some of my favorite newer movies.

The Maniac remake gives me hope for US horror but look at the release that has gotten. At the same time look at the money one of the ghosty, jump scare movies makes.

The only Italian Horror movies I like are The Beyond, Zombi and City of the Living Dead. I can understand where your coming from, but I find them absolutely creepy. Actually, if anyone can recommend some other good Italian horror films that would be great. I've been meaning to expand my horror collection anyways.

i kind of consider 1, 2, and H20 to be one reall good story. i didn't much care for the cult sublot. and i can enjoy part III as a standalone movie.

I hated Halloween: Water...it basically says that the previous three films don't count (and I actually didn't mind the cult subplot).

Despite what people say about the ending, The Mist is a film I really enjoy.

i like the Mist. i own the Mist. but that ending made me chuckle. i realize that it was supposed to be tragic. but, to me, it was more like a stupid person just got punk'd by God. faith and how it divides people, was a subplot. so all i could think is that this guy was being punished for lacking faith. and i laughed because of how the faithful were portrayed, by contrast. they were monstrous. so how am i suppose to interpret that ending?

the previous three films don't count. they are basically just drawing out a story that needed to end with Michael finding Laurie and killing her (or being killed by her). it made no sense to introduce Jamie, when Laurie was still out there. and i'm falling asleep just thinking about the cult. talk about neutering the antagonist. he goes from being a force of nature to some religious group's *****.

I was alright with the events of H4 and H5, but CoMM was just too out there. H20 was pretty good. If I had a say in anything, my continuity would consist of H1, H2, and H20.

For me it's Haloween 1 & 2. Everything after that are bad dreams that haunt Tommy Doyle.

This is how I feel as well. To me, the series consistes of Halloween, Halloween II, and Halloween: H20. While some of the movies that are not Laurie-centric are okay (mainly Parts 4 & 5), they just lacked a certain something (ei: Laurie).

Same here. In fact, that's why I don't own DVDs of any Halloween movies between H2 & H20, or after H20.

I saw that a while ago. There was a thread on here all about the proposed new reboot. I wouldn't mind seeing one that's a little more faithful to the original. Kinda like the Friday The 13th remake, just not as boring.

I really, REALLY love Black Sunday. Its a little bit dated and talky in the middle but when you put it in its era it downright frigging awesome. The blu ray is great.

I'm not the biggest Argento fan but I like Demons a lot and Opera a little.

After that there is...
Cannibal Holocaust and Cannibal Ferox

There are loads more but that's all I really like.

Have you seen the newer French stuff? Its pretty awesome.

That's how I've always looked at it. Halloween: Resurrection was just terrible and it ruined what I thought was a good ending to H20.

i'd at least give it a try. despite being a fan of early White Zombie, i felt like he just put too much of himself into the remakes. it felt like i was watching all of his friends at the tattoo parlor putting on a Halloween-themed play. i might have liked it if it had been an original film. but the original kind of got me into horror.

if it hadn't been so close to the end, i would have walked out of the theatre when Busta Rhymes started beating the Shape with kung fu.

What did you guys think of Halloween 3? I thought it was interesting, but the robot subplot was too dumb and the "relationship" between the guy and girl was too awkward. I would have liked to have seen what the Halloween movies would have been like if they kept the whole new story for each film thing going on.
