Anyone heard of the Wishmaster series?

Wishmaster
Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies
Wishmaster 3: Beyond the Gates of Hell
Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled

I find these to be extremely underrated - maybe the most underrated Horror series out there. My friends give me crap for this all the time, but I find all four films to be strangely compelling. They get worse with each film (of course), and they even delve too far into the sci-fi/fantasy realm... but sue me if they're not a blast to watch on a rainy day.

I'll also say that the fourth one has a pretty solid - almost impressive - storyline.

I think I've seen the first and second one, that's about it. They have some pretty cool scenes. But I wouldn't go out of my way to buy the DVDs or anything.

I gotta agree with you there. And aren't they trying to come up with a fifth one now? I mean seriously! How many people could possibly want Sidney Prescott dead?

The first Scream was great. The second one wasn't bad for a sequel. Part 3 sucked pretty bad. I mean they had to reach pretty far to try and come up with a new villain for that one. And then Part 4? If a long lost, pissed off half brother in Part 3 was a stretch, you'd have to be Mr Fantastic to stretch for an envious younger cousin as a plausible villain.

So to Dimension Films, or whoever is making all these God Awful sequels, "Stop it! The horse is dead! It's beyond dead! It f**king GLUE! Stop whipping the damn thing! It can't go any farther!"

I don't think a fifth film is moving forward right now, they're still prepping an MTV series though, which is an even bigger disgrace.

They are actually leaning towards a television series. I'm a fan of the concept , but they could never match the original's killer reveal. Scream 3 is horrible in some parts. I liked Scream 4 , but it could have been better. I almost wish they went with the alternate ending. It's still a good way to end the series. I really don't want the Sidney character to go through this again , that's just sadistic.

It's not really a horror movie for the most part. But I think the alien abduction in Fire in the Sky was pretty freaky.

That was a good movie I forgot about. I haven't seen it since the year it came out.

I'm torn on a fifth one. I don't want the series to go out on something as almost incomprably terrible as Scream 4, but I don't have much faith in a fifth film being any good at this point either.

I've never been in such shock and disbelief at how terribly a movie turned out as I was opening night Scream 4.

To this day I still can't believe it.

I really liked that slasher mini series Harper's Island that CBS did a few years ago.

It would be cool if we got so more stuff like that.
The first season has just started on channel 4.

All the episodes are on youtube in subtitled English.

I've seen the Wishmaster series and I kind of wish I hadn't seen the last two. The fourth one was just awful.

It's grown on me over time. I remember walking out yelling. Ppl in my theater thought I was joking or just being a hoodlum.

I hate the idea of a tv series it's silly the main question of me is.... A killer an episode or a killer a season?

I guess I've been out of the loop lately, because this is the first I've heard of a Scream TV series. That's just a dumb idea to me, especially after the gianormous failure that was Part 4.

Speaking of which, I had watched Part 4 on the Movie Channel, not on DVD, so I never saw the alternate ending. How was it different from the theatrically released ending?

I scored a bunch of free tickets to The Conjuring for this upcoming Tuesday. I'm excited, everything I've heard about this film has been very encouraging and the first teaser was fantastic.

The conjuring looks good so far

Last I read the tv series has been green lit , but it still seems kind of strange.I wouldn't mind the idea of a murder mystery show , but since MTV is producing my expectations are extremely low.

They toyed with the idea of Jill getting away with it. Also I think Adam Brody would of been the third killer.

A Scream TV show sounds alright to me. At least just the concept.

the trailer for the conjuring actually kinda piqued my interest....and thats extremely rare for a modern horror film. but maybe its just because they used Donvan's Hurdy Gurdy Man, which is like the best song.

The used that song in all the ads for The Zodiac too.

I have the first two on DVD in a double pack. I didn't bother with the third or fourth films because Andrew Divoff didn't come back to play the Wishmaster.

You didn't like Insidious?

Not at all. It was just too silly for me.

I'm a guy who needs realism in my horror(somewhat). I'm a slasher horror guy. And if you go with ghost you have to go full out raimi. I can and never will take a ghost horror movie real. I love Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne both good at acting.

I just couldn't stand insidious. And all I kept hearing from ppl and friends and even the horror community was it was one of the scariest movies ever. I fell asleep watching it the first time. The second time I tryed watching it I was on my phone the whole time. 3rd time was a charm tho I finally got through the whole film and.... It's horrible.

I really liked Insidious. It was a nice change a pace since at the time is was just Paranormal Activity which I can't stand.

For me I see them in the same light. Bad movies that for some reason people think are scary.

Insidious was awful, especially the last 30 minutes or so. I thought Dark Skies did it better and was a little more believable.

Dark Skies was terrible. Hated it. I hope The Conjuring is good though. Just saw Evil Dead and I didn't find it that good. Too much blood and gore for my taste.

I think Insidious is the perfect working example of the old -and very correct- idea that as soon as you explain the horror it stops being scary.

The first half was fantastic but once it reached the midway point and we went to the demon's 'lair' in the land of the dead, it switched to something more akin to Fantasy and totally destroyed itself.

I kinda liked Paranormal Activity, at least the first two. The third was okay with some really creepy imagery, but I didn't like the addition of the witches coven. And I never saw PA4, but I understand the witches coven is featured in that one as well so I don't have very high hopes for it.
