I might be the only one, but I'd love to get a new 'Halloween' film/reboot that's actually scary and worthy if using the Michael Myers character. It's time to get something moving in terms of that franchise.

Or just let it die the death it should have died before the 80s even hit. There should have never even been more than one Michael Myers film.

I think that was his point. The ending is fantastic.

Horrible, but fantastic.

Oh I agree. It's just that I was thinking about a conversation I had with my brother and his wife a few weeks ago, we were talking about The Mist and they said the ending ruined the movie for them. I disagreed with them, but oh well.

I liked it but I understand why it was too rough for some people to enjoy.

I was like that with Drag Me To Hell. I didn't really want that ending even though it was shocking.

The ending to the Mist is what sold me on the story. It was so depressing to see how it ended. Picked up the dvd just for the B&W version. Looks great that way.

I didn't like the ending of The Mist because it felt stupid to me that IMMEDIATELY after the heartbreaking scene, the Mist dissipates and here comes the military. No signs of it before, and then WOOOSH, crisis solved. I was too busy rolling my eyes to experience what most viewers seem to have felt.

The ending to The Mist is terrific, the movie overall is very good. Horrid CGI effects, though.

I did not have a problem with the CGI in the Mist. My only complaint was that it occasionally dragged.

i think it's going to be hard to view Michael Cera as anything other than a creepy villain, after this one.

Watching My Amityville Horror...a documentary on the kid (now grown up) that was involved in the total fraud that was the Amityville Horror case. I guess it is nice to see them still making money off of the same old lie. He comes off like a complete egotistical jerk, and the documentary is basically his side of the story with virtually no evidence that shows that he is just making it up.

Did you see the film in black and white or color? The director intended the film to be in B/W so the special effects look horrid in color.

Wait... He's still trying to pass it off as legit?

I don't entirely agree with this statement. I think Halloween II was a very good sequel, better than most in fact. And it ended almost perfectly, with Michael burning up in a raging inferno. However, I will admit that the franchise probably should have ended there, after the first sequel. While I don't particularly love Parts 3 through 6, H20 was also a really great ending to the franchise as well.

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a non white trash remake of Halloween, which is more faithful to the original without being a complete rehash of the original story. There's a fan made trailer for a Halloween reboot on You Tube that's really well done. It's basically the original story updated and modernized without all of Rob Zombie's extra whit trash BS. I don't remember the title of it off hand, but it was very fun to watch. I highly recommend it.

Yes, this DVD hit Netflix this week, so it is brand new (and already on streaming, which is the only reason why I watched it).

If you are looking at it from a worldwide disaster perspective, then I guess you could use the "crisis solved" argument, but looking at it as a more personal story (basically the people in the grocery store, Tom Jane's character, in particular), the crisis being so conveniently "solved" is part of what makes it so tragic and intense.

That Halloween pitch animatic, did anything ever come of it?

The one that came out a year ago, I don't think anything has happened. Wasn't that made back when they wanted to remake it and it went to Zombie?

No, I saw it in color on TV. Maybe one day I'll watch the B/W version.

That's a shame. I really don't like zombies Halloween movies that much. Well, the first one is okay, but the second one is downright awful. I doubt we'll see more Halloween movies, though.

Maru, what's your creepy avatar from?

As for the future of Halloween, we are bound to see another one in the next 50 years.

It's from an underrated movie called The Keep loosely based on the novel of the same name. Actually, it's one of Michael Mann's earlier films. The character in my avatar is named Molasar who was an ancient evil that was unleashed. It has Ian McKellen, Gabriel Byrne and other great stars. You can find the film on youtube, you should go check it out, you might like it!
