I've caught a few previews for this.

On the one hand, visually beautiful film, on the other hand, it looks cheesier than the previous two hunger games films.

We'll see.

Agreed, the trailer is striking. And I agree on Lawrence as well, his films look beautiful and are pretty well acted.

I thought Constantine and I Am Legend were both good, but you could tell he learned stuff from one to another. In Constantine he put too much focus on the visuals, in IAL he put too much onto the acting and not enough on the visuals. For Catching Fire he got the mix pretty much perfect, I hope he does a CBM one day.

Hopefully, I think Lawrence is one of those directors where he needs a good script, if the script is good and he is directing the movie will be.

This is one of those movies that I just don't get all pumped about before release. But when it does I see it in the first weekend and then I'm pumped to watch the next one. lol

Knowing the content of the next two films hasn't really allowed me to get excited. These trailers haven't helped much either. Katniss's armor reminds me of late 90s/early 00s badness.

i think i like the Mockingjay book more than some but i will say this, i have never understood how this movie split thing was going to work. they MUST have added/changed a lot or this first part is gonna feel crazy incomplete and just won't work as a movie.

also, if Part 2 is anything like the book, it's really difficult to imagine American audiences responding to it well. but they might like it over in Europe. it's definitely a bold way to finish the story.

but despite major reservations about how Mockingjay was gonna work as a movie, much less two movies, Catching Fire was just so dang good i can't help but look forward to seeing if Lawrence can pull it off somehow.
