The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Parts 1 & 2

I made these two minimalist posters. :)

So this is another example of why a third book shouldn't be split into two for greed? Or was it worth it?

i'm not sure.
on one hand, had it been a trilogy, i think the last film would've been at least 3 hours and people would've complained about that too

i told yall, the 50th hunger games (the second quarter quell) is where it's at. although, the only person you can use again would be Haymitch and it'd be a younger character. you cant really do any more of these films with the current cast, can you? maybe Finnick, but can you make Claflin pass at 14? or Johanna when she won hers?

The 50th with Haymitch as one of the 48 tributes is as recent as I'd want them to go. Otherwise go further back.

So is this going to be the new trend with these now? First splitting the last into two films, now prequels? Eh, between the two, I like this more.

can someone explain to me what happened with Gale?
it seemed like he knew or even planned the bombs being dropped, but if he knew about it why did he let her go to the mansion? They were lucky they didn't get blown up too

Pretty sure he just had a hand in making them, but didn't know how they'd end up being used.

Oh wow. Still, 3 hours of quality is better than 4 1/2 hours of ehh.

On the off chance I someday write a popular trilogy I'm sure as hell having it written in the movie rights deal there will be no splitting of films and no spinoffs. 3 stories, 3 films only.

I thought the split movie thing worked out alright. Still probably could've worked out with a slightly lengthy single movie, but. :o

isn't this the film trilogy that made you wear the "pigs fly" avatar? lol

good times

That must never be spoken of again.

Just watched it, while I enjoyed it for the most part, I did feel a little bit empty by the end. The ending was soooo somber for me. I knew that Katniss/Peta would end up together but throughout these movies, I was never able to get behind the idea of it happening.

i think i wouldve preferred it without an epilogue

Finally completed this whole series.

It was entertaining, but I could never get attached to the characters. I didn't really care who was killed off.

Overall as a series, I think it's pretty good. Not my cup of tea. But I never have to watch this again.

Watched Mockingjay Part 2, and its my favorite film of the series. The last 2/3 was tense as ****.

Id rank the series:

Mockingjay Part 2
Catching Fire
Movkingjay Part 1
Hunger Games

i can see why you'd say that. movie-wise i didnt really get attached either, but when reading the books certain deaths hit more than others.
Finnick, Prim! :argh:

I liked Mockingjay part 2 but I think overall they should have just combined the best parts of part 1 with the best of part 2 but of course money and greed always win. As I have always said since Catching Fire Lawrence isn't as good as many make her out to be but she gets the job done and carries the weight on her shoulders well. I NEED more films/studios to take note of the effort they put into the marketing, posters, and overall artistic direction for these films as they are top notch.

Catching Fire
Mockingjay part 2
HG
Mockingjay part 1

i totally agree about the marketing. some of the best i've seen for any movies, and someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe these started when the new director took over for the second film right?

Yeah they really put effort into it when Francis Lawrence came on board.

Agreed. Watching Part 2 I couldn't help but feel that quite a bit of Part 1 could have been cut and Part 2 been the last 2/3 of a single Mockingjay film.

im kinda hoping for a "director's cut" of sorts that splices the two together. doubtful, but i can dream lol

i really want the Best Buy steelbook to complete my set, but i'm not a fan of the price right now

^ There's a fan edit in the works called "The Hanging Tree" which aims to do that very thing. It looks promising.
