He does absolutely nothing for me and I honestly just don't see it. I know hot guys, I love hot guys and this guy does not make me go Wow! He just looks like another vapid blond haired *****e. He's generically goodlooking and I actually think that he looks younger than his age and a little akward to boot.

remember katniss is suppose to climb trees and i very quick i just cant picture jen as that at all

eh...mixed bag. She's a good actress, but I dont think shes right for the role. Dont really care about height because you know they can change stuff around, but still dont think shes right. I tried rereading a few chapters of the book with LAwrence in mind but I just cant imagine her

I really had hoped that they went with actors that are around the same age in the books but besides the age issue, I still believe that the movie will be good. I'm sure Lawrence will do well, just hoping that they cast a good actor for Peeta next.

I think Lawrence has the chops to pull off this role but I worry that they will chnage her appearance too much to match that of Lawrence and not Katniss. Then again in Winters Bone she looked nothing like she did on the red carpet.

I think Lawrence can do it for sure. I wish they COULD have gotten an actress who was from a Latin, Asian, or Mediterranean (Greek, Spanish, etc) background but that's not Lawrence's fault.

she was also 18 during winters bone(was filming in feb. 2009) she turning 21 in like 4 months

well seeing how the film comes out in march of 2012 and it is march of 2011 and they just no got their lead

not to mention she is still in negotiations for a lead role in Savages directed by Oliver Stone which is set to shoot in June

i would be more angry that they are rushing a movie out for march to get the twiligt fanbase. its nto like this will be anything special.

yeah that is how i see it she wont have the time who knows when they shoot lol

it has to be soon if the film comes out in less than a year and they still have post production to consider and not to mention she likely has to do readings with the possible peetas for chemistry .

and the several other roles to be cast still - haymitch,prim,rue,gale,effie,etc.

they better move fast if they want to keep that release date of march 2012

that is cutting it close x men first class level of close lol

but they need to shoot real soon if you consider this film will likely take up 4 months of shooting and maybe 6 months of post

Yeah, the rule of thumb with genre movie is to shoot at least 12 months prior to the release date.

It's cutting it close NOW for a movie that doesn't have a real cast yet (besides Jennifer)

I mean, if all else, they CAN MOVE IT to at least in April. And they may have to since WB moved 'Clash 2' to 'Hunger Games' current spot. The problem with April is it's a busy time for college kids.

Otherwise, I can't think of another way to move it: Move it to April, move it to the already crowded Summer (maybe August?) or move to the WB dominated Fall Season (The Hobbit, Superman). It's gonna have to take a chance and go with it.

To be honest, I don't know the extent of the CGI b/c I'm not too familar with the book series. But I had the impression that it took place in the future where it's noticeably the future right?

I know that 'X-Men: First Class' and even 'Super 8' kinda negate the '12 month' rule, but I also feel like their directors are highly skilled at genre films and everything was planned out to a T. Well moreso for 'Super 8' since JJ Abrams is very meticulous.

If its pretty faithful to the book. THere wont be that many effects besides the Capital (a futuristic city), a few explosions and arrows, and then some stuff like desolate wastelant backgrounds, etc.

It really isnt that effect heavy. But I were them I wouldve cast earlier. LEts say there was an actor that acting wise was really good for the role but needed to lose or gain some weight, they have to eliminate them the closer they get

But we'll see its still early

The main thing i dislike about Jen as katniss is her size katniss being small is a very important physical trait meanwhile Jen is 5'7 and very healthy and curvy looking people underestimate her in the Games because she is so small.It is seen as a disadvantage but this disadvantage saves her ,she escaped the bigger competitors by climbing up trees at one point and she is suppose to be starved and malnourished.
