Right, I've been telling myself for ages that I need to get into this colouring malarkey.

I have Gimp and I was just browsing through tutorials and it seems rather complicated, anyone know any easy to understand tutorials that'll give me some idea of how I go about doing this?

Started out as a grayscale to mix things up..

Got bored, tried to color the grayscale drawing..

Tried applying a soft light filter to see how it changed the drawing.

The background was FAR from done, but I've been swamped with actual illustration work, and I couldn't resist touching this lineart. I may finish it later down the line, but I wanted to post it as "a work in progress"

I finished my first colouring ever. I'm pretty proud of it considering i've never properly coloured something. I know the background lets it down (it's meant to be a sewer lol) But i did the best i could, i could never do a background like MadMaximus (great dp colouring btw!)

I did mine on Paint.net... is there any better (free!) software out there?
