if i'm not mistaken, i'm pretty sure there is a another tmnt lineart in the early pages of this thread

The only constructive thing I could say is that it looks flat, but that's because there doesn't seem to be any light source, so there's no shade or anything. Though that's not a bad thing, it's just something to be taken further. If you need help on rendering lighting, you can always practice making a circle into a sphere. Sounds boring, but it is a good starting point.

Yeah i know about my whole shading. It was my first go so i wanted to just try and get the basics done. Plus i wasn't really sure how to shade on Paint.net. Maybe GIMP has some better tools to help shade.

What do i do to shade and make it more 3-dimensional?

For the basics you did pretty darn good.

I have no idea what paint.net is

I use Photoshop CS3 currently, and I use the brush options, selecting usually about 15-30% transperancy on the brushes, and go nuts till it looks right to me As for line control, I use a wacom tabelt as oppose to a mouse, which is basically a pen-mouse.

Paint.net it's pretty much microsoft paint with some effects, like blur etc and more tools.

I finally got the grip of Layers and that really helped me. I'm gonna try shadows when i get some time because now i'm gonna give a go at sculpting!
My first project is gonna be Iron Man and Pepper Potts with light up repulsor and chest piece!
