That V2 #49 is also nasty to find in TRUE Near Mint.

Aloha,
It's funny how some comics become rare. They wanted no less than $40 for v.2 #25 regular issue, not foil variant on ebay and a few other places.

Yeah... those issues have such a low print run, that they're considered "rare"...

That low print run really only qualifies for issues #14-29 of that second volume. The #19, 22, and 25 are some of the hardest to get mainly because of demand for these issues. #28 and 29 are also a low supply/ high demand books.

With #30, the print runs increased a great deal.

Doc Ock vs Carlyle, one of my favorite Doc Ock stories.

Aloha,
Very true. But didn't Marvel at some point after that make a decision to produce a low print run across the board?

I just discovered that you are doing this countdown with covers thing and I love it. Keep up the good work. I can't wait until we get to some of the Bagley covers. When it gets much lower, you should post all the Spider-Man titles with that certain number.

...from my first post...

It's now 603 days until Spider-Man 4, so I'll be posting the covers and credits of each regular continuity Spider-Man comics begining with Amazing Spider-Man #603 and working my way down to issue #1 every day, adding on the other Spidey titles along the way. As I've stated, I've done this for all three Spidey movies and it was fun, so hopefully, we can enjoy the ride yet again for a fourth time.

I will not be including, like last time, mini-series nor Ultimate Spider-Man.

Thanks for the kind words... happy viewing...

:yay:

Donald - I think that low print run was from a period when sales were at their lowest anyways.

Remember also, that when ASM went to it's second volume, MANY readers and mostly collectors found a reason to stop collecting the title, and did. When it went back to the original numbering, MANY of those same collectors came back in droves, and what was the first thing they came looking for? Those V2 issues! They are easily the most sought-after modern ASM's.

The Disney deal was a good deal for Disney. It's gonna take awhile before their "presence" will be known, if at all.

Part of me thinks that that movie news is just some "dramatics" being played out.

Aloha,
I would agree. It's not like I see Donald Duck on ESPN.If anything, I look forward to some of the BEST super hero animation ever done. The power of Pixar united with Marvel Animation should be awesome. Time will tell.I also wonder if the Disney characters will have comic books published under Marvel. All of the Disney characters would fit into the Marvel Age imprint pretty smoothly.Ike Perlmutter made out like a BANDIT. But like I said from the start, Marvel negotiated from a position of strength. While I'm happy for the companies,I chose not to remain a stockholder.MVL is dead:csad:

Fun Fact:

Amazing Spider-Man 480, the only issue of Amazing to list 'Spider-Man created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko' on the title page.

Hi Donald,

Thanks for the welcome.

I would provide you with a link but Blake Bell's website, DITKO LOOKED UP is down or completely gone? If its the later we lost a truly great resource for everything Ditko.

Anyway, when Amazing 480 was released Blake Bell was buzzing about it because Marvel was properly acknowledging Spidey's co-creators by stating, Spider-Man created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. In previous issues (such as anniversary issues) it was always something to the effect of Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, John Romita Sr., Soul and Inspiration or Dedicated to Stan Lee, Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr., heck in Amazing 100 the credits start off with Created + Written by: Stan Lee. Ditko got no love for that issue. However, issue 200 rectified that by stating, '200 issues ago, Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created a classic' (its never explicitly stated created Spidey, only implied). I believe this issue is the closes Lee and Ditko got to a proper created by credit.

I recall Bell thinking that Marvel put this created by credit in issue 480 because this issue came out a month or two before the Spider-Man film was released in Theaters and there was a lot of press about everything Spidey, so Bell thought Marvel did this to avoid any negative press on the publishing side. By the following issue Marvel removed the created by credit.
