Gawd, I'd even take our current mummified Ock over this one!

Aloha,
It's an example of why I can't stand Ramos. I do see where his current work looks a little better than this. Let's hope he comes out swinging in his Amazing arc.

Now we're getting somewhere (figuratively speaking, of course)! I remember Spidey unable to websling in this issue due to being stuck in the suburbs. Total classic!

We're in absolute agreement on this one, DT. I'm not a Ramos fan in the slightest. Will try to remain optimistic though. :word:

I'm missing Spec 262 & 263, I take it these are more expensive to get?

DT and Manof: Will you guys be picking up Marvel Team-Up at 150? Or are you going to include volume 2 and 3? Or will you only be covering ASM and Spec?

I'll be hitting MTU on Day 186 (150 issues vol.1, 11 issues vol.2 & 25 issues vol.3)

It's the next one coming...

Followed by Web around Day 141...

:yay:

Nice one!

M-T-U!!! M-T-U!!!

One of my favorite mags of all time!

I've been rereading Spidey for a while now, I'm in year '82 where JDM's team-ups rule! but then again, Mantlo's Spec, and Stern's legendary ASM runs are happening too, overall just a really good time for Spidey!

The first subscription I ever had was to MTU, right when John Byrne was on it. My first issue was a Team-up with Warlock (MTU #55). Before that, I was pretty much just into Spidey. I was hooked on the wider MU from that moment forward. So I really have a soft spot for it. As with most other Byrne stuff from the late 70s and 80s, his MTU was perfect. (His Goblin re-design a few posts up, on the other hand, was not. Not even close.)

You nabbed those off spinner racks? that rules. byrne drew so much epic stuff on that run, I think my favorite being the tribute to firefighters with Power Man, or the Red Sonja ish. Both the Woodgod and Thor issues stand out to me too, aww what the heck am I talking about? the whole damn run rocked due to the art, imo.

Actually, I had a subscription that I talked my mom into because my best friend's sister was hawking magazines for the school. So they came in the mail with that sweet sweet smell of plain brown wrapper. I can't tell you how excited I was when I saw one of those arrive. Things were so different then. There were no internet previews, so other than the blurb at the end of the previous iss, I had no idea what was underneath that wrapper. Completely addicted me.

The firefighter one was cool. The one that sticks in my mind was the 2 part team up with Wasp and Yellowjacket.

Aloha,
#262 may be a little expensive due to the Live actor cover(stunt man Scott Leva) he was going to be Spidey in a movie produced by Cannon Films that never materialized. #263 shouldn't be that hard to find.

Aloha,
For the MTU fans out there-Marvel Masterworks is coming out with a HC version of MTU . A little on the pricey side but then all MMW are. Look for a good discount company for your HC's.
