These are the "rare" covers that share the same number & villain, but are about 10 years apart from when they were printed...

:yay:

Aloha,
#262 may be a little expensive due to the Live actor cover(stunt man Scott Leva) he was going to be Spidey in a movie produced by Cannon Films that never materialized. #263 shouldn't be that hard to find.
Spidey rules

Or did he mean Spectacular 262, The Gathering of Five.

If that's what you meant, you should have no problem finding those.

Not only that, but Spidey's getting his ass handed to him in both!

That's pretty damn cool that they are so similar.

I think the next batch is the Will O'the Wisp around issues #233...

Aloha,
CPumpkins was referring to Spectacular #262 and I thought he was talking about Amazing.I've been working very hard lately:doh:.I don't think either #262 or 263 should be that hard to find or afford.
Spidey rules with better concentration

I always felt that Hobgoblin was really overrated. The moment he came around he was in every other issue for a time. Now I don't mean to say that Hobby is a terrible villain, I liked some of the twists in his character (I liked Macfarlane's two-parter in issues 6 and 7 of Spider-Man), but there was always too much. I'd rather see more of the Green Goblin, but not too much of course.

Actually, I was never a big Hobgoblin fan. The original story/mystery was great. Probably in the top 10 or so of great spidey stories. But once they muddled it up with who he actually was, and then replaced him, and blah blah blah, I started to lose interest.

I still don't like 'Hobgoblin Lives' and the fact it was revealed Hobby was NOT Ned Leeds, but Roderick Kingsley who appeared like 3 times in the 80's.

I know it was Roger Stern's original plan, but y'know he left and other writers like Tom DeFalco, Jim Owlsley and Peter David went in a different direction. Ned Leeds made sense by the end. His "death" was kind of anti-climatic, but the reveal and emotional aftermath was solid and cool.

If we're going by original plans, then Steve Ditko should come out with 'Green Goblin Lives' and reveal that Gobby isn't Norman Osborn afterall... but just... some guy. Because that was his original plan.

#259 of Amazing is something I would love to get my hands on. Spectacular looks pretty good also.

Adding two more to the list.

I really enjoyed Goblins at the Gate. That's the last time we saw Kingsley isn't it? When he "retired" on that island?

Correct. He did leave and return to New York in the Spider-Girl comics, but not in 616. Too bad, he's obviously one of my favorite villains.
