This second part can't be emphasized enough. You guys really are the worst at it. It's like watching Carrot Top and Pauly Shore go at it.
Now I want some cheddar whizzy.![]()
So angry with my mom right now. She refuses to lock the doors at night and I had even caught someone trying to get in through the back door while she was away on vacation, most likely thinking there was no one there. She's acting so stupid thinking that her dogs and God are going to protect her from a hardened criminal with drugs and alcohol flowing through their veins. She's even been friendly with a former neighbor who was a pill popper and dealer. A mile down is a jail too so our part of town is like convict alley. She won't listen to me when I tell her we have to be more aware of things, like locking those doors and getting locks for all the bedroom doors. After 4 years she's finally put batteries in the smoke alarm in the kitchen after several close calls with leaving burners on unattended. I seriously told her that when someone busts into the house I hope I'm long gone and told her not to come crying to me when it happens.
Yea, your mom definitely forgot you existed and were capable of doing these things.
Isn't a jail in the area a good thing?
In all the time I've lived in this house I have reminded her about the smoke detectors and turning off the burners. It was a little hairy in the beginning with the old electric oven and the exposed coils. I'd walk into the kitchen to see a burner on high heat and not turned off, or a pan smoking and almost in flames. But since getting the new range that turns off if you lift the pan off the burner you'd think that's not an issue, but you'd be incorrect. She was boiling milk for mashed potatoes a few weeks ago and forgot it was boiling when she went to check on her computer for emails. I walk down the stairs to see smoke billowing from the kitchen. I'm yelling my mom's name to get her in the kitchen as I'm heading there to turn off the burner. The milk was boiling so much it was spilling over the pot onto the range which is all glass and burning. I swear this woman is the major root for my stress, but if I wasn't here she'd have burned the house down a long time ago. If things keep heading in the direction they're heading in she will need to be put in a managed care facility, I can just see it in the future. She is 72 and there is dementia in the family lineage. Her mind is definitely not on what she's doing sometimes.
...did dementia prevent YOU from taking care of the smoke detector instead of a 72 year old getting on a step stool?
if so, i'm totally with you.
Here's the deal, my dad disassembled them a long time ago and took the batteries out. He also lost the protective plates too, which we found one today. The issue was with getting my mom motivated to find all the necessary parts to the smoke detectors that my dad had stored, which she did. You do know that it's pretty hard to ask my deceased dad where he put the smoke detector parts.
So a new Dragonball series is coming and no one has gone cray-cray about it yet?
We're talking about it in the DB tv thread.
Not when they let the convicts out. These are career criminals we're talking about. Heck, they busted a few Meth Labs down my street a few months ago.
