yeah, ILM's Hulk looked like a fat bastard

.... these were taken when he was breathing out, i cant go frame by frame in stupid media player.

ah man, this shot is so cool, i could have sex with it. Honestly, people are saying what we got is better than that

in stills or in movement.

are you insane?
he was breathing. he had sweat on hes skin. you could see every little details in hes face.

he was alive. stop bashing 03 hulk to make this one better. its pathetic.

I agree, both are good in different ways. Why cant fans see that we have different versions and interpretations of characters.

Trust me, the finished product of the Hulk will look better than what we've gotten so far.
you really think they wouldnt have made sure the final version gets into the trailer? those shots would be the first shots they finish. this isnt the first time at the rodeo, why would they put unfinished CGI in a trailer to get picked apart on the net? looks way too CGI.

No matter what, some of you we're bound and determined to say it sucked, especially the people complaining about '03 and this. It's not a matter of the CG being good, it's that you can't accept CG creatures.

Read the Louis Leterrier interview at Empire Online. Even at this point, he was concerned about marketing the film with unfinished effects shots.

I dont agree, look what we got with Transformers ( and spare me with the Michael Bay bashing) but those characters looked believable with real settings and surroundings around and behind them. This looks like cartoon characters running through the streets to me.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?

LL says in the empire online interview the shots are unfinished but it really doesn't matter since this trailer was going to picked apart no matter what.

I also agree with what Nivek said, some fans find it hard to suspend belief.

What I don't get is that some people are saying the CGI looks totally terrible when it's only one maybe two scenes the hulk looks a bit plastic, the rest of the time like when he's crawling out the crater and our first shot of him he looks perfect.

Yeah, I agree I think this desing is better than the one in the comics, I was never a fan of the Abomination (to me it is basically an evil Hulk, that for some reason looks like a sea monster?????)

But when I saw it in motion my mind went straight to DOOMSDAY... and how it will look in a live action movie

It really shows that the Superman Returns producers missed the boat. How cool would it have been to see Supes take on a monster that looked like that in the streets of Metropolis?

How cool would it have been at the start of the movie???

Instead we get Bryan "I love Donner's Superman" Singer instead of a proper reboot.

And btw, speaking of comparing to 2003 Hulk, who is doing the effects this time? Surely not ILM?

Thats an unfair and somewhat silly comparison, using robots against something made of flesh and muscle and bone.

BTW- I loved Transformers, and heard the same critism about that film, with the CGI=Fake Arm-chair FX comments.

SR was good for what it was, wait for the sequel, I guarantee the CGI will look tons better than this.

Hey im just comparing CGI, your correct that it is harder to create living breathing creatures over robots. I just feel with todays technology, especially with computers and CGI, I was hoping for something a little better, like I said I never said that this looked awful, just not up to par with todays other effects.

The effects in the Superbowl add for the first Hulk movie weren't finished.
The effects in the Superbowl add for Iron Man (the tank scene) weren't finished.
The effects in the MTV trailer for this Hulk movie aren't finished.

Yes, I really think they wouldn't make sure everything thing is 100% ready just to go ahead and start advertising.

I'm a die hard hulk fan and I think it looks pretty awesome. I watched the original last night and while i think the first one was pretty ingenious as far as editing and cinematography goes, just from this trailer, I'd say the effects are more than enough to satiate not only a die hard fanboy but also the general audiences. I'm quite positive nobody is going to compare this one to shrek, and Heck i'd much rather see my favorite character, be it brilliant CGI or sufficient fighting abomination(who looks fantastic IMO) than watching 40 minutes of moss introspection.

post production for movies like this usually go down to the wire, if they waited for everything to be 100% they'd release the trailer the day before the movies comes out...i think Nivek said it best, alot of people just don't like CG in general...heard it in 03 about that hulk and now this. we know the cg is unfinished, its not an excuse its just the nature of these things, even when the movie is released im sure there are cg artists who if they had the time and money would still be making finishing touches, this goes with every movie...I liked what i saw and i think they're doing a great job with something that's really tough to pull off...

Im glad Louis Leterrier explained in the article why things are the way they are, it cleared alot up for me personally!

Obviously I can't accept CG creatures. I mean, I only thought Gollum, Davey Jones, King Kong & the 2003 Hulk looked great. Yeah, thats obviously the problem. :whatever:

This would still be a good movie if it came out as is, so if with get a 25% improvement it should be tremendous.
Would improvements involve movements too at this point, or would it just be texture touch up?

Texture is the main concern. Skin doesn't look like wax.

Apparently. If you can look at Gollum and Kong, but think this sucks, well it's time to get new eyes. Or pull the lumber out of your rear. :oldrazz:

Look at your skin.

Does it look like you can make a candle out of it?

If it does, you have a problem.
