Then we'd have something else to make the comparison with. Presumably '03 Hulk would win that one too.

03 Hulk hasn't won anything. It stands alone as the only finished live action feature film with the character. 08 isn't done....remember. ;)

If you're basing your opinion on the image in the post you quoted, then it's not a fair comparison. The pic of the new Hulk is low-res, blurry, and overly compressed, whereas the old Hulk pic is hi-res, uncompressed, and in sharp focus. In fact, that old Hulk pic is probably a marketing render and not from the actual movie. I remember seeing that picture printed as a high-quality full page spread in a magazine, which is impossible if it came directly from the movie.

To illustrate my point:

Which one looks better?
In terms of design, the left, by far.

CGI realism? Right, by far.

I think brilliant bits like this tend to fly unnoticed over the coop here, my friend.

LOL! Oh, Scandy, you can spot me in any skin, can't you?
Thanks for the compliment; it's too bad about the coop, though. ;)

i think that's a bad shot of him. or at leasti hope. i dont want him to be like this:
muscles.jpg

but i do want him to look muscular. however, im not liking the popeye look, with the obscenely and out of-proporton lower arms.

but im just being nitpicky.

the new designs looks like definitive hulk.

That is so fake looking lol we should all be glad this hulk doesn't look like this guy

The difference is that thread isn't full of people insulting each other over and over about their differing opinions. I see reading comprehension isn't one of your strong points.
I see that neither reading comprehension nor memory skills are yours...

We weren't talking about a 1:1 correlation between the Hulk FX bickering and Chocolate fans deriding it's detractors. :o

At that point, it was an off shoot of the conversation...I said:

You say, "I like PIZZA!"
And someone else says, "Me too!"
And you go, "Cool!"
And then someone else says, "PIZZA is gross."
And you go, "WHAT?!?"

...and then you said:

The example you just posted is something you would expect in a conversation between children. I've definitely never heard anything like that in an adult conversation.

That's where you were wrong.
Adults have conversations SUCH AS THE ONE IN THE EXAMPLE I GAVE...all of the time.
You were wrong and within a day or two, another example of how wrong you were, just happened to pop up, on it's own, because it happens so frequently.
It is not the kind of conversation that I'd expect to come exclusively from children, and I know that you have heard adults arguing over opinions before.
I hope you can muster the courage to face that...someday.

I like many shot of the ANg Hulk...admitedly this is bad

His head is ginormous yo....and it get bigger plus the expression on his face and the set up looks to be very...well

Three Stooges come to mind.

The best shots of the Ang Hulk for me

are the shot of him getting up and his shoulder healing after the tank shrapnel catches him the fleshy part of the muscle.

Him getting hit with Bullets after the Talbot House bust up thing. I actualy dug the growth there...but Ang took it to far, it could have been more subtle

Finally the peek is the shot of him just as Betty comes running down the steps at the films climax. He is perfect as is the transformation back to Banner.

I hope LL makes the Hulk get Bulkier and more bristling with muscle as he gets madder.... it works much better for a film idea then overall proportional growth.

Yeah I've been preaching that for awhile, not only is that the best shot of the film IMO, I also think its some of the best cgi work I've ever seen. There's so many little nuanced expressions in that shot its crazy. First he turns, still angry, and squinting trying to see who's next to be smashed, then once he sees its Betty his face totally changes, he looks down briefly and he does that little gulp that kids do when they know they're in trouble and about to get caught, its terrific. He looks so sad and ashamed at what he's done, almost embarrassed. On top of that, he's still wet from being underground, so the water is done as real as I've ever seen it, just the whole thing is flawless, for anyone who hasn't seen that part in awhile I urge you to re-watch it before assuming that this new Hulk will have better cgi. More consistent, I sure hope, but better than that scene, I don't know how much better that could be done....

Yea I definitely loved the transformation it was perfect one of the best parts of the film

The 2003 Hulk had some of the best CG ever, and it still holds up really well today. But truthfully, we can't judge until the new one comes out done and finished. Not to mention, the best Hulk stuff from the old movie was him during the daytime, not the nighttime. So all we've had from the trailer is an (unfinished) night scene. Which still looks pretty awesome.

Some of the CG really works for me, like when they're running down the street, knocking cars over, and some of it doesn't, like when Hulk runs at the screen. But we'll see eventually.

Side-note: I think it's awesome that the only thing I've heard people complain about the movie so far is this one scene. It's safe to say that we all know the script is tight, the acting's gonna be awesome, the story will be incredible. Step up from the last one, right?

I'm 100% Ang Hulk, because even though the Hulk has no true body fat, at least Ang Hulk's skin doesn't look like a single layer of skin over muscle like Norton's Hulk.

Perhaps you need to read what I wrote again. I said it's something you would expect from children and that I've never heard anything like it in an adult conversation. Seriously, I've never heard adults have a conversation that sounded anything like "I love pizza. Ewww pizza is gross. No it's not. Yes it is. Neener neener." That's what you described. Maybe it speaks to the company we keep, but that's neither here nor there.

That's also not representative of the thread you posted. For the most part, the people in that thread are being more intellectual and mature than is indicated by your example. Also, anytime I see a post on a message board that resembles your example I just assume it's a child. If it isn't, well that's rather sad.

Which brings me to my next point: Even if it is an adult saying something similar to what you describe, that does not mean it is something that an adult should be saying. Adults also murder each other all the time, that does not mean it's acceptable behavior.

Basically, my point is and was that such behavior as you describe is not something that should be expected or encouraged in an adult environment. This is what you have completely failed to comprehend.

The old Hulk reminds me of a Stretch Armstrong figure i used to have..

:bh:

i really like the look of the new Hulk..

the color, the size, the head, etc..

even unfinished i think he looks much better than the old Hulk..

Not to Hulk bust the old Hulk..

He was good for the time, but i reckon the newer one is much better..

CompareHulk2.jpg

Are you kidding me people? Just compare a finished daylight rendering to the night time shot which is still unfinished. Who looks more like the Hulk? Nuff said.

*sigh*... i'm one of the biggest supporters of Ang's Hulk, even i agree that the new Hulk looks like the comic version, alot of people who like Ang's Hulk share the same opinion, its just that he doesnt look real, his skin doesnt look right, Ang's Hulk (even though he looked nothing like the comic book version) looked real, his overall look was perfect when the CGI was done right, like in the desert sequence or in the dog fight or when he's face to face with David. Before AD starts saying his fav line, yes, its unfinished, i know that, but most a$$holes who say that this makes 03's Hulk look like a comic strip dont seem to know that.

... one of my fav scene of the last movie, Ang's Hulk showed so much emotion, some great acting and CGI there.

Ang's Hulk BLEW.
It blew so bad, when I see someone slip or fall, or make a mistake...
"DUDE LOL, YOU JUST ANGHULK'D"

But in terms of CG, Norton's Hulk is less unlive action realistic, if in terms of....F it.

I felt that Ang Lee's Hulk's motions made him seem to weigh lot less than he should based on his size, which threw me off. Another thing that threw me off was the way his pants looked. They seemed to be stretchy instead of torn. But overall, I likes Ang's design. I like the new design also. I'm more worried about the new cgi hulk's movements

ScooterRe: The Official Incredible Hulk CGI/Visuals Thread
