Stuff like this is why I'm not worrying about any images of the proto-costume we've been getting, because it's clearly the proto-costume. I'll reserve any opinions on his look until after I've seen the show.

I like his costume as is. It doesn't scream superhero but it's cool and practical. That being said, the red outfit is gonna be dope. I'm actually partial to the black suit with the red DD insignia but hey, can't win em all lol.

Here are all of the new pics in one spot:

I'm sure if the character existed, we would have heard about it, but I really would love Melvin Potter to design the final costume.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if Melvin Potter is in the show, to be honest. It could just be that it's not a name actor playing him and so it wasn't announced. After all, we still don't know who's playing Jack Murdock, and I know for a fact he's in the show.

I really hope they don't hold off on giving us the proper suit until the tail-end of the season.

Yeah, I think him getting the costume is pretty much going to be the third act "climax" of the series. We may get 2- 3 episodes tops with the final suit.

Good point. I'll hold out hope.

Let's just face it guys. The modern era of these films does not really favor the costumes as much.

I've said all along that this lame black costume is the only one we're getting. The show will end after 3 seasons with him finally putting on his actual costume.
They're doing it to appeal to the non-comic book/House of Cards audience who they believe will be turned off by a red suit.
It literally makes no sense otherwise to do this. The GA recognise DD in his traditional red suit. All the marketing and promotion for this has been a complete failure to build interest.
I refuse to watch an entire season of this fake costume, all the reports have said that this is the only costume for S1.
As a DD fan this is so disappointing.
This post can't possibly be serious. It HAS to be a joke, right? That or a trolling attempt. He's getting the red costume, and he's getting it in season 1.

Well, based on the more recent comments we got about the red costume (and that apparently someone else makes it), I think it's safe to assume that it will indeed appear in the show at some point. But I really think that ninja proto-costume will get boring after one or two episodes, and I hope they don't drag it along for the rest of the season.

Everyones gonna watch this show and enjoy it without seeing the red costume. Youre probably not gonna even care cuz the story will be so intrigiuing. I actually think the suit should be secondary to everything else. If youre 12 years old, maybe a suit is all you care about.

^ I don't think thats entirely fair to say. I dont think ANYONE doubts that this is gonna be one of Marvel's best work but after being so badly burned by DD 2003 I think the fans are just anxious to see how they visually bring this character to life this time and the ninja suit....is just not satisfying.

My only concern is if we're NOT going to see Matt Murdock again for several years after this series than I want to have a satisfying amount of episodes with him in the red suit. However, if this gets renewed for a second season to air next year then I would be willing to wait a little bit longer for the final suit.

Well, no. The modern era has been perfectly fine with the hero wearing a costume. The only one I can think of that doesn't is Punisher. Back in the day, there might have been comics afraid of having the hero look like the source material (Judge Dredd, for example), but that's in the past for the most part. The closest you get is concern about Captain America's costume, but the costume has been pretty faithful with just a bit of gentle mocking to smooth the way. Even Hawkeye is going from his Ultimate costume to his 616 costume now that he is no longer a SHIELD agent.

Ghostcrow: I want to see the red suit too, Im just saying, are people only watching this show just for a suit? I dont think so.

I know I don't care that much, I'm sure he will have it by the end, and he will have it for the Defenders and season 2 which I'm sure is inevitable, even if that is 2 years away.

But you surely will have offended others on here

I think it's a bit arrogant of you to say something like that. No one on here is watching this show only because of the suit, but it's a show based on a superhero, and a suit is a big part of that. I don't think the suit itself will have any negative impact on the quality of the production, storytelling or whatever, but since it's pretty much the only thing they haven't revealed yet (and a costume is usually one of the first things to be revealed when it comes to superhero shows/movies), it's pretty normal that people have concerns about it.

If you're 12...

I think we will get more of the Red suit then what people are thinking we will get. They are simply waiting to show it as the anticipation creates more hype leading into the show. Marvel will most likely allow an image of it to be released like a week before the show premiers, the internet will go into a frenzy about how awesome it is and then bam the show hits with discussions about Daredevil setting the internet on fire. These guys are genius, so they are just waiting for the right moment to drop the bomb to make everyone go crazy. I mean sure all we have seen is the proto suit, but with 13 hours of film they could be showing us pictures and clips from the first few episodes and we would be none the wiser. Also, what we have seen so far looks totally in line with the tone of the character even if his Red costume doesn't appear until later in the first season, with it looking as good as it does I think we will almost certainly get a second season. So I am not too worried, in Marvel & Feige I trust.

Norek: So youre not 12 years old, you proved it! Thank you. To anyone I may have offended with my 12 yr old comment: Sorry folks. I just get frustrated sometimes reading negative comments (as we all do). It comes from a place of love, honest. :)

Well, yes.

His 616 costume is just a redone version of the Ultimate costume because that's what he had in the movie.

Even in Thor, he ditches the eagle helmet after about 30 seconds. And I understand. A big part of these movies is verisimilitude and functionality. But I just miss the more iconic elements of the costumes.
