I'd be good with either. Skarsgard seems like the more obvious (really good) choice but I could see Hammer fitting a role like this. Plus it would give him an opportunity to branch out.

Universal-Blumhouse’s ‘The Invisible Man’ Adds ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ Star Storm Reid


Storm Reid has joined Universal/Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man opposite Elisabeth Moss.

The Leigh Whannell directed movie follows Cecilia (Moss), who receives the news of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s suicide. She begins to re-build her life for the better. However, her sense of reality is put into question when she begins to suspect her deceased lover is not actually dead.

Reid will play the character of Sydney. With her mother gone, she’s picked up the maternal slack and is very capable and mature for her age. She’s an outgoing lover of fashion who aspires to see the world, and she initially likes having Cecilia around as a role model, but grows mistrustful of her when strange things begin to happen around the house.

Reid scored the lead role in Ava DuVernay’s Disney feature adaptation of the classic kids novel A Wrinkle in Time which grossed over $100M stateside. Her credits include Best Picture Oscar winner 12 Years a Slave, the Netflix limited series When They See Us and the HBO series Euphoria.

From the storyline, sounds like Moss and Reid are the leads while the invisible man will be a background player antagonizing them. Very different than the original novel.

Blumhouse & Universal’s ‘The Invisible Man’ Adds ‘Straight Outta Compton’ & ‘Clemency’ Actor Aldis Hodge

Deadline has learned that Aldis Hodge, star of the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning film Clemency, has landed a role in Blumhouse-Universal’s The Invisible Man which is inspired by the studio’s classic monster character.

Hodge joins Us star Elisabeth Moss and Storm Reid in the Leigh Whannell feature. Whannel wrote Invisible Man and is directing and exec producing. Production starts next month in Sydney, Australia. Whannell was behind the BH Tilt cult sci-fi pic Upgrade and the Blumhouse title Insidious: The Last Key. Whannell wrote, directed and exec produced both projects.

‘Invisible Man’ Title Role Goes To ‘Haunting Of Hill House’ Star Oliver Jackson-Cohen – Deadline

The Haunting of Hill House star Oliver Jackson-Cohen has scored the title role in Universal/Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man which begins production this month in Sydney, Australia.

That’s quite a casting coup considering that at one point during early development of this project at Universal, Johnny Depp was set to play the Invisible Man. Jackson-Cohen joins the already announced cast of Elisabeth Moss, Aldis Hodge, Harriet Dyer and Storm Reid. We hear that the filmmakers were wowed by Jackson-Cohen’s turn as Luke Crain in The Haunting of Hill House. That Netflix series follows a fractured family as they confront haunting memories of their old home and the terrifying events that drove them from it.
