The Invisible Man!

‘Invisible Man’ Title Role Goes To ‘Haunting Of Hill House’ Star Oliver Jackson-Cohen – Deadline

The Haunting of Hill House star Oliver Jackson-Cohen has scored the title role in Universal/Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man which begins production this month in Sydney, Australia.

That’s quite a casting coup considering that at one point during early development of this project at Universal, Johnny Depp was set to play the Invisible Man. Jackson-Cohen joins the already announced cast of Elisabeth Moss, Aldis Hodge, Harriet Dyer and Storm Reid. We hear that the filmmakers were wowed by Jackson-Cohen’s turn as Luke Crain in The Haunting of Hill House. That Netflix series follows a fractured family as they confront haunting memories of their old home and the terrifying events that drove them from it.
Loved him on Hill House.

Cool, it seems maybe this might be told in the POV of Moss's character. Which is a cool way to do it. This is one if those stories where so many things have been done with it, so this is no exception.

OJC, Elisabeth Moss and Aldis Hodge. Great cast. I wasn't particularly interested in this but with this cast, now I am.

I was willing to see all those **** movies. I pulled up a chair and everything to sit back and enjoy that train wreck.

Well the year is still young.

I hope this becomes a big success so that Blumhouse will make their own low budget Dark Universe.

Universal: “Ah, crap!”

Interesting plot. Not what I was expecting but I'm curious about the trailers

Since plot details of this have been sparse, I was wondering if this was going to go the superhero route with The Invisible Man and turn him into a hero, but definitely not! I do worry that it will turn out like Hollow Man though.

Which is basically what the original H.G Wells story was.

Well it's a lot more horror based and the titular character is more of a movie monster than I wanted, but it's a different take.

Movie looks great. Universal made the right decision going in this direction, making low to mid budget horror movies with these characters. Whannell is the perfect choice to kick it off, after Upgrade being one of the best sci fi films in the last decade on a 3Mill$ budget, this is poised to be a success.

I think this looks good, but truth be told I wasn’t a big fan of Upgrade after all the hype. It was very predictable. Hopefully this won’t be the same.
